Hi guys,
Hoping someone can tell me what this means. I have oil around the hose that goes into the throttle body. Could it be a leak? Anyone had this issue. No dash warnings.
Thanks,
Von

Hoping someone can help with this or at least let me know what the purpose of that hose it. It definitely has a very slow leak. Thanks.

Looks like it's seeping out where it goes into the valve cover. Pull it out and take a peek.

It's a oil breather hose and is old, clean it and put a worm clamp on it.

Thanks, I'll order a new hose too, they're cheap. What a silly problem.

Could the leak mean that the PCV valve is stuck open? From what I read stuck open pcv can cause oil consumption and leaks, which I have. I can't see how to easily replace the valve though.

Looks like this could lead to other serious issues later.

Just wanted to write an update on this issue. The car needs a new valve cover. The PCV valve failed, which creates extra pressure, which leads to oil coming out of that hole in my original pic. The mechanism inside the valve cover can't be fixed, the full valve cover must be replaced. Bad design on GM's side.

This makes me think of what will happen if someone doesn't notice this? Your oil level will keep dropping like it did with mine which can lead to a whole other set of issues. This is apparently a common issues with the veranos. Keep an eye on your valve cover and oil level at all times.

New valve cover is $170 CAN.

Do you have a picture of how this part is connected?

Mine broke (2013 Verano) they soldiered 2 plastic pieces together with PLASTIC!!!. See 2015 Verano - this was changed. Last pic was the new one I just flippin bought!! Still has the plastic soldier which I'm using JB Water Weld to reinforce & painting it.

Looks like I'm changing out the valve/camshaft cover too since I read this thread and there is oil around that hose where my fingers are holding it.

I did read to get a pressure releasing oil cap and that fixed the oil consumption issues with some Blue Devil stop leak additive. Haven't had the new cap long enough to tell yet.
