It would help if anyone knows just what the kick-to-open module is actually called. Searching for 'tailgate projector' didn't return anything useful (see below), and spending about 20 minutes on Ebay.ie* searching for 'Insignia tailgate switch' and a couple of other options & came up blank.

*Ebay.ie (Ireland🇮🇪) since they sell Opel Insignias & they speak English (although with an accent).

(Did you know Ford is considering adding a video projector option to their pick-ups so you can tailgate AND watch the game at the same time?)🙄

Didn't we find out there is no Opel logo?
I vaguely remember in that thread, the Opel version of the projector only projected a symbol similar to the button closing the tailgate.
Edit: Turns out I remembered correctly. See post below from RoRi

So the question becomes, do you really want that version instead of the Buick one?

Looks like @voodoosoul installed the European version--but didn't post a part number...

Well, believe it or not it’s called a “lamp”

My lamp is dead, therefore I decided to retrofit my Oplelised Tourx with Opel's part featuring a graphic of "the car with the tailgate opening". I wonder if the lamp is out the kick-to-open system will still work? The kick-to-open feature is enabled in the menu...

Does your lamp not illuminate at all? I've seen where the image projected gets distorted but it still projects an image and the kick to open system still works. I had the problem myself and had the lamp changed.

But if the projector isn't lighting up at all and the hands free doesn't work you could still have a different problem like the car is not sensing the fob nearby and doesn't light up the lamp. I'm not sure how you would test it but I'd probably start with trying with the second fob standing near the back of the car.

Unfortunately, the projector isn't lighting up at all and the hands-free doesn't work... I have 3 fobs I will check if thins will work with others.
In this case, I am leaning to suspect the car is not detecting the remote back there.
Therefore, it is not projecting anything and the hands-free not working.

Let's try this.
Lock the vehicle and bring the remote with you to the tailgate.
Try pressing the touch pad button under the emblem on the tailgate to open by hand.
My tailgate opened this way with the remote on me, but stayed shut without the remote.

Let's see how yours behave.

You don't have a hitch do you, I heard that a hitch can block the lamp.

"Try pressing the touchpad button under the emblem on the tailgate to open by hand." - it works for me

I wonder what "Keyless Entry Components 13592781 Antenna" does?

You know, I am thinking about a dealer visit if it is still under warranty.
Given that is not functioning properly.

The projector lamp--which is a LED (E72 pin 1 grey [V+], pin 2 black [ground] ) gets its power from pin 8 (page 3309) of the Remote Keyless Entry module through another in-line connector (X404). The 'foot' detector gets its info via one of the cars data networks. Schematic for the lamp is on page 8273 and continues into page 8274, pin-out of the lamp is on page 3186 of the Regal Service Manual (you did download that, right?). A dealer visit might not be a bad idea...

I will try to get the "Opel" style liftgate light and see if this will help to solve the problem.
