New EnVista preferred, I’m pretty happy with the interior, It’s got signs of being upscale. Except for the center console, it’s just that ugly flat matte black plastic that looks like plastic. I’d much rather have the piano gloss black in the Avenir, so I pulled it out of the car and I’m painting it. One coat of adhesion promoter, three coats of gloss black, and then three coats of gloss clear. Then about 500 strokes worth of polishing with finishing polish. Pictures when it gets done… Here’s one for now.

All the parts popped right out of the car, except getting the shift knob off is a total bitch. You really have to pull hard if the car is new , because the plastic barbs that hold it are also brand new. It took more time to disengage than it did to paint it.

gloss black just went on….IMG_1897.webp

this is all rustoleum 2X painters touch paint. Seven bucks a can, all you need is two cans. Tip: put on all coats 10 minutes apart, and warm up the cans in a pan of hot water before you use them. It sprays so much more even.
