I have a 2010 LaCrosse CXS with Parking Assist problems. The Park Assist system acutally works and functions just fine, but everytime I put the car in reverse, the "Service Parking Assist" notification appears on my display (even though it is working just fine). The system beeps as it should as I approach something while backing up. I cleaned the sensors, and unhooked the battery for a few minutes in an attempt to reset the computer, but I still get "Service Parking Assist" notification. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to fix this (other than take it to the dealer an pay $500 to replace the sensors)? I can replace the sensors myself (if that is the problem), but wanted to rule out other possible causes before spending $250 for the replacement sensors.

Thank you

If you type "parking assist" in the Search Forum, you'll see this problem discussed in earlier treads.

Back when I had a '10 CXS had two dealers check it out....turned out to be something with the parking brake wires rubbing on the frame? I wouldn't say it went away 100% but they adjusted something and the annoying park assist msg happened less often.

I recently had the same problem today. I was coming home from work when I noticed it. Tested the park assist but reversing in front of a parked car and it didn't work. When I arrived home I just let it sit for a while and then 2 hours later it worked again. I believe it has something to do with humidity and heat. The sensors just cut out.
