Hello, I have a 2005 Buick LeSabre Custom and have been making small repairs as needed during the pandemic. I don’t know much about cars at all, but have researched online what to do in order to change out my broken taillight, swap fuses, change out my broken driver’s side mirror, etc.

I passed inspection and renewed my registration on Tuesday morning. Tuesday evening, I noticed my right headlight was out. I replaced the bulb and fuses, to no avail. Then I noticed my passenger taillight was also out. My turn signals work fine and the trunk exterior lights on the passenger side are fine, but every other exterior light on the passenger side won’t come on.

Knowing as little as I do, I assume that’s a wiring problem? But I have no idea how to go about pinpointing it. I’m broker than broke right now, so if I can find a way to fix this myself, I’d really like to do that. Any advice?

Welcome to the forum. It is very possible that you have a faulty ground that is causing the passenger side lights to be inoperative. If it were my vehicle, I would start by cleaning my battery terminals. There are several good YouTube videos on this topic. For safety, I would wear eye protection. Remove the ground cable first, do the cleaning of the terminals and install the ground cable last. This is to prevent the possibility of making a spark around the battery.
A wiring diagram for your vehicle will be required to find the ground locations that may need attention. Perhaps another member of the group could provide more info on this.

If all the lights in the same assembly went out you may want to check the connections are clean and secure, next check the wiring harness for shorts/damage. Look at your owners manual as there are fuses and relays, not sure if marked in the fuse box cover, but also confirm they are not blown buy pulling them out and doing a visual inspection.

There may be additional information from others on the forum, but those are the basics to start with.
