Popping left front corner

Ok, that's a little scary about the jack. What car did you get it from? And do you have a part number? It looks a lot like the one I got from a 2006 DTS.

I may need to look for an alternative if the part # matches.

P/N on jack is 25737324. Stamped on the side it says to only use on vehicle specified. Not sure why it would matter unless you used a jack from something small like a Civic on something big like a Suburban. I think mine was from an STS around the same time so weight of that vehicle is actually a bit more than the TourX. I am a bit baffled. I have never liked or trusted these much but now I have no faith. Can't imagine how this could be safe if you had to make an emergency repair along the side of the road. If anyone has the misfortune of having to us it I recommend using the spare under the vehicle so if it does drop it doesn't go to the ground and roadside has a chance of lifting it back up for you.

I forgot to update this thread, but I did get a chance recently to use my trusty floor jack at home to check things out again and I found nothing loose or looking worn. The only thing I noticed was that the protective sleeve over the damper was no longer attached at the bottom. The strut mount did have some signs of dirt around the edge so perhaps it is starting to bind causing this. Another reason I am leaning towards this is the odd sensation I have noticed twice now. Initially I just thought it was from backing over a small rock or stick and feeling a slight wobble/slip sensation, but it has happened twice in my driveway and I checked the area and found nothing. So I think this side is binding a bit and when it releases it gives me that sensation.
