Buick Ownership
2018 TourX
I have a TourX with 33K miles. I have noticed when I turn the steering wheel to either side I hear a groaning sound, like the car needs power steering fluid. I can't see any reservoir for a power steering fluid and I don't see any mention at all of it in the owner's manual. Help!

Owners manual tells you it has electric power steering, no fluid. Unless your over mileage should still be under bumper to bumper warranty.

Does this happen only in colder temperatures?
Does this happen only at the last steering wheel rotation before the full lock?

(interested to learn what the dealer says)

No to both. Even the slightest turn, a gradual entrance to a driveway, etc causes this noise.

Small stones jammed somewhere in the suspension? Bit like when they jam against the brake disks?

My 2019 has 21k on it, at 15k I. Noticed a creak grown when turning towards full lock. The strut mounts are knows to make this noise, mine is bo exception. I haven't had a minute to bring it to the dealer to fix. Mine only does it in colder weather though

I have this at last half or full steering wheel turn.

In colder weather more often, but sometimes in 65+ *F.

Service writer was able to reproduce it in the spring.

Now dealer claims they can not reproduce it.
Happens when standing still, or less often when moving slowly while parking.

Will this also throw off geometry where the wheel alignment will be off?

The struts on my VY Commodore make a groaning noise when turning tightly at slow speeds in warmer weather. This only started after I had the damper inserts replaced. The noise is coming from the bearing at the top of the strut. I think I should have replaced the bearing at the same time as the insert.

It's been like it for several years and at least 150,000 km, other than the noise it hasn't been a problem. It's been through several wheel alignments and the tyre wear has been absolutely normal.

Hi- I had the same problem with mine. I took it to my independent mechanic and he couldn't figure it out. As a last resort, I took it to the dealer. They said I needed a new differential!!!! Said it was assembled incorrectly at the factory. It was covered fully under my warranty.
