Anyway, car started actin up again. I'm so frustrated with this electrical problem its driving me insane. this is what I'm starting to think....

Theres a local yard here that has acquired a bunch of roadmasters from a place that shut down around here called Midwest Roadmasters that went out of business. The yard now has all of the roadmasters that were at that place, and there were alot. The yard only owns a handfull of them as the son is selling them off as he needs money. There are a few with a blown motor and/or tranny. I'm thinkin I can make a deal with the yard owner, about acquirring one of those shells in exchange for my shell and some cash maybe, and do a motor/tranny swap. I'm just so sick of trying to track this gremlin down and keep ending up at square one. Its literally got me beat. If I'm going to tear apart the car trying to find it, might as well swap it into a better body and interior right? I dunno, what do you guys think?

What problems should I expect doing a '94 motor/tranny swap w/ harness and pcm into a '95 or '96 even? (or maybe I should start another thread for that...LOL)

Swapping the entire engine/tranny harness on a 94 is not too bad. I think I would start there.... body swaps turn into a LOT of work. Besides. You would much rather just sell the whole car to me. 😉

LMAO!
C'mon now...I'm not being a bad salesman, just trying to be honest...

I dunno Cory, its pretty beat up. body is going quick, and floorboards are almost gone (drivers side is). And now with this electrical gremlin after I just had the tranny rebuilt....I just cant see putting any more real effort and/or money in to it. I just dont think its worth it anymore. If I can get another sedan, less motor and tranny, on the cheap because it'll be in trade for mine, I'll probably go that route. Gawd I love these Sedans! I find myself hanging on by a thread cuz I dont want to be without one LOL.

(oh, and now that I recently moved into a place with a 2 3/4 garage, I actually have the space to do this finally)

Frosty, here is a thought. I bought 2 1995 roadmasters in the last 2 years. Both were rust free southwest cars with less than 90k miles. Both were trouble free cars and one is almost in showroom condition. I paid $3800 for the showroom car and $2900 for the second car. You could sell your car to Cory and add some additional cash to buy a rust free southwest car with no problems. Mine is not for sale so I'm not suggesting this for my benifit.Just something to think about if you really like the roadmasters.

Thanks Turbostar, but being a father, and a sole provider for a family of four, I cant afford to just buy another one. Trying to do this as cheaply as possible, otherwise if I was thinking about just buying another one, I wouldnt be discussing this option. Ive already dumped around $3K into this one over the course of 2 1/2 years. For what I could get for my roadie, Id rather keep the motor and tranny, if not to just keep it to build up and work on over the years for a future possible project. Time to call it quits I think, but if I can do a powerplant/tranny swap into a decent one. Why not? Id be able to swap over all my goodies and not have to start from scratch again. Plus, that engine bay would be fookin spotless LOL!
