Buick Ownership
1993 Roadmaster Wagon
I was lucky enough to purchase a Roadmaster Wagon a few weeks ago. The last owner bought it himself about 8 or 9 months ago, and when I saw him and the wagon back then, I said to him, if you are ever going to sell it, please let me know first. And a few weeks ago, he let me know it was coming up for sale. I am 30 years old and I have really had an interest in the Roadmaster wagons since I first learned about them 10 years ago. There are not many here in NZ. The national fleet registry here lists about 43 Roadmasters between 1991 to 1996, however I have no idea what ratio are sedans and wagons. Unfortunately for me, my RMW was converted to a hearse when it arrived in NZ in 1999. I have no mid or rear seats, and I am super sure the badges were all removed from the sides and rear end of the car. My goal is to eventually source the missing seats and convert it back into a station wagon. I am uncertain if it had the wood grain before it was converted here, also if the colour it is now is the original paint, as the engine bay is a different colour to the exterior. The paints are very similar, but the engine bay is painted in a flat, not shiny blue. From what I have figured out on my own is that it had most of the factory option ordered, dual power front leather seats and cruise control, but no tow package. I would like to put the badges back on and find the right colour mid and rear seats. I would also like to find out if it is straight forward to install the woodgrain package on as well.

Any information about the car would greatly be appreciated. I am really excited about owning my new Roadmaster, and I am looking forward to seeing it back in it's original form one day. I keep having to explain to people here in NZ that I didn't buy the car because it is a hearse, because everyone assumes that I wanted a hearse, and I am already getting quite tired of explaining it.

I bought it because it's one of the coolest station wagons ever made.

A bit more about me, I have only ever owned forward look MoPars and a 68 Plymouth Sport Satellite before. This Buick is my first car from the General.
