I have a ‘14 Regal GS FWD and I can’t believe the fact that there are zero rear coil springs to be found. Part number 22885343 for RPO suspension codes 9AD and 8AD. I have been non-stop calling and searching for a week. GM discontinued the part and there are no aftermarket replacements. Crazy that this applies to years as new as 2017, less than 10 years old, and they discontinued a coil spring. There’s not even a superseding part either. I’m blown away. Unless I can find a junk yard with a matching VIN, there’s nothing I can do. This is after calling multiple dealerships, GM, ACdelco, Summit Racing, etc, etc. just thought I’d vent and put this out there in case anyone runs into the same issue for some GS configurations.

Have you considered one of the two springs Rockauto lists even if they don't match the RPO code?

I haven’t really because I believe mine sits lower and no one has given me a definitive answer on if the others would work. The other RPO codes work for the Turbo trim and Verano’s if I remember. The part number I listed is only compatible with my trim and no other models based on GMPartsGiant and Summit Racing’s listings

What is wrong with the current springs?

We also had a rear spring issue with a different GM car.

We found a lot of options on European OPEL & VAUXHALL forums & sellers (but your car was called the INSIGNIA). It will take some research. And you might wait a few weeks to order for the tariff noise to get sorted.

One note of warning with springs and shocks - Euro versions tend to be significantly stiffer due to high speeds and curvy roads. So even the "mid-line" components might be less comfy than you expect.

You can also look at ebay and amazon (but start at their UK sites as the parts are different). Generally, those are not great sites for most auto parts but they could help here due to all the knock-offs IMHO. I found the shipping from both to be fast and reliable. Sometimes a seller states he will not ship to the US but might change opinion with a quick call.

***Euro OEM part numbers

***Bilstein parts lookup site. This is a bit cumbersome. And they recently changed parts numbers again but it gets you started

***UK forum

*** Some sellers of aftermarket parts

***There are professional cross-reference sites in europe but I can't remember what they are. Once you identify a GM/Opel/Vauxhall/Bilstein part number, they will help you find other options.

Notes:
- Buick, Opel, and Vauxhall may have different part numbers for the same part.
- Figuring out the "identical" suspension height and stiffness of springs in Europe will be a bit of work.
- GM sold Opel and Vauxhall to Peugeot a few years ago so these parts may be relabled sold OEM under the PSA system.
- UK cars are driven on the other side so that impacts a few parts (e.g. headlights, outside mirrors, etc.)

Thanks for all this info. It’s a big help and I’ll start down this path. You rock 🤘

I ran into a similar problem when looking for back springs on my car. I was able to find the part number (thanks to my shop), but the original springs were discontinued. I used the part number from the OEM springs to find a GM parts website, and I found the discontinued springs - BUT they also had other rear springs. One of the two I had available to me had my suspension code, and I bought them. So far, they're doing good!

As for you, I did the same thing. And I found these, with your suspension codes. I hope this helps!
