Rear seat removal

HaHa! It’s too much of a commitment this weekend. Besides that, I’ve got the front end disassembled while I’m waiting on parts. I’ll see about making it my next project. Soundproofing and interior lighting complete with a fuse and console-mounted switch.
Is your console-mounted switch up top, integrated with row of switches ahead of shifter, or ...?

Yeah that’s exactly what I wanna do. My car doesn’t have any switches there currently, but I was hoping to get a switch bank from a GS or a trim level that came with switches.

If not, I’ll get the ole Dremel out and retrofit a small momentary switch. For power, I have one more 12VDC output on my amp distribution block and I bought a small buck converter to knock it down to 5VDC. That’s a much cleaner solution than plugging a USB cable into one of the rear ports.

Aside from the Opel full 6 switch assembly #39111155, which for me is cost prohibitive just because of shipping from across the ocean, there's GM #39137617 GS 4-switch option that can still be bought new for <$50. That's what i'm considering, though it's only my assumption that those switches could easily be wired to whatever accessory you'd want. I haven't seen a US version that has more than those 4 switches, unless #84576852 for the Envision fits - that's got 5 switches in it & <$50.
🤔
Also, i don't even know if ours have a harness under that fake switch assembly at all, so might need to get a harness as well.

Definitely appreciate the part numbers. You’ve obviously been doing your research. I am making the same assumption about being able to wire them. I’m also assuming they are SPST. I don’t know if a harness would be worth buying or not. If the car doesn’t have the features controlled by those switches, a harness won’t do much good unless you’re using it to supply power.

Have you looked at any wiring diagrams? I have a copy of that huge service manual someone posted. It should be in there.

Well the wiring is just one simple step for this guy, but he could head us in a useful direction...

IF they fit, the best option is probably #42568937 - 6 switch unit for '20-'23 Encore GX Essence & up, for ~ $30 new.
Gotta believe they're physically the same assembly as ours, but 🤔 ?

And we don't even have to deal with OP's rear seat removal difficulties! 😆

I got the front clips disengaged but the seat back would still not move out.
Is there another set of clips or bolts?

Are the rear seats the same between TourX and SB?

Rear Seat Cushion
1. Insert a 457 mm (18 in) pry bar next to the inboard side of each wire
loop and push down, using the floor as leverage, to disengage the retainers.
2. Pull up on the front of the seat cushion and disconnect electrical
connectors, if equipped.
3. Lift the rear seat cushion out of the vehicle.
4. Inspect each high retention retainer and sheet metal interface for
flushness. Replace retainer as required if damage occurs during removal.
5. When installing new plastic retainers on the front of the seat,
ONLY seat the retainer to the first click, otherwise the insertion force into the
sheet metal will be greatly increased.
, but i haven't actually done it myself.

Haven’t done it yet, ...

The bottom is held only by two clips?

If you guys get the seat out, pics of the underside of the seat itself and/or the clips/hooks it attaches to, and maybe some description of the process, & tips would be helpful to others working on this down the road 📷

I wasn't able to find any videos or pics that clearly show what the underside fastening hardware for the '18 + Regals. There're a couple for Gen2 Cruze's, but no way to verify that the Regals are the same, as far as back attachments go.

I'm having the same problem. I have the front left and right unclipped but something else is holding it down at the far left and right. I don't see any other retaining clips from the photos above.

As soon as I posted, I figured it out. Once the two clips are undone, instead of lifting and pulling the seat cushion forward, push the back to get over this hook, then it can be fully removed.1000100182.webp

so, like this:

Yeah, well no one posted this video earlier in the year when these questions were asked lol. Where were you then?🤔😀
I wasn't sure it was accurate info for our US versions till you posted that last pic 🙂
