New owner of a LaCrosse CXL. Somewhat silly question. How many times do you have to press the lock button on the remote to get the locking feedback.

What happens to me is as follows:
1. Exit vehicle and close driver door. One press of the lock button locks all the doors.
2. It takes a second press to actually get the locking feedback (currently set to horn and lights)

Does this makes sense?

yes ,because the second click activates the alarm.the alarm light should start to flash after the the horn sounds at least that the way mine works the horn chrip lets you know that the alarm is set.

See section 2-14 for locking explanation.

One push of the button arms the anti theft alarm.

I had to show my salesman the exact same thing!

Wow!!!

Thanks for confirming 2 presses on the remote is ordinary. The manual mentions the lock button on the remote both locks all door and sets the alarm. The manual was not clear if this required successive presses.

Other vehicles I've been in the FOB lock button locks and sets the alarm on one single press of the lock button.

Thanks again.

On my 2010 CSX I shut the door, push the lock button on the fob ONCE. The lights flash and the alarm light glows for several seconds turning to flashing. This entire process takes me ONE button press on the fob. I have config set to "lights only"

this is how it works on mine too

The red light turns on inside my car just from pressing the door handle. I dont touch the keys, which imo suck anyway.

The way it works is that you press the lock button once. At that point the car is locked. If you press a second time you'll get the chirp, but it's only reason to do that is as a confirmation for you that it's locked (peace of mind). The car is locked and secured after the first press.

I have my 'auto-lock' feature turned on so when I exit the car, I don't have to do a thing. It locks all four doors in about 20 seconds automatically.
