Hello all! I have a 2013 GS and have had an issue twice where my remote doesn't work (not detected) and I have to manually unlock the door and have fun with the car alarm. The battery in the remote isn't dead I was assume since it works hours later.

Both times this has happened it was after the car sat for about 4 days. Last month, my battery was dead after letting the car sit 2 weeks and it was jump started but not a problem since.

I am probably answering my own question but I have a feeling it is the big battery under the hood versus the remote? Some other European GM's I have had start acting weird when the battery starts dying.

Thanks for any help!
Jeff

Big battery, my wife's SRX did the same thing, and her battery was dead due to her running it down in accessory too long (battery was also original and weak when the bought the car, as it was the original ~7 years old).

Also check for corrosion on the terminals. I went to jump a buddies car the other day and my positive terminal was covered in corrosion even though it's really well protected with the cover.

Replaced the battery in my 2012 a month or so back. When it was on deaths door, started getting transmitter missing errors. My take, change the fob battery first, cheaper. That doesn't do it, replace the battery in car. When it finally died, major rainstorm with my two young kids in the car. The car seemed to shut off all electronics so I could start it........would have been a bad night if got stranded. Failure was also gradual, but easy to ignore, until it was almost toast.

Ironically mine did the same. I noticed it when trying to jump the wife's SRX (the same day as mentioned before). I had corrosion all underneith that cover, apparently there was a crack in the battery below the terminal. I had to replace the terminal, battery and the plastic fuse box on top (if you order the fuse box, it comes with a cable I found out).
