Removing turbo

Goodluck with everything! Definitely be interesting to see it when it's all done. Do you think there will be much lag with this setup? A FMIC would be awesome!!!

Tim stated that this turbo will come on way sooner than our stock turbo due to the exhaust wheel design and a billet compressor wheel. My dyno from Performance autowerks showed me hitting around 3krpm and dropping power after 5krpm, the ZFR will hold boost all the way until 7500rpm when i do the valve springs. Like i stated, until i do a clutch i am going to have the boost come on closer to stock, but this turbo next to ours is pretty beefy, so well see.

Kyle, are the springs a must when doing the ZFR turbo or are you just going it because you'll be running high RPM's for a long duration? Is the concern our stock springs "float" when hitting higher RPM's for a sustained amount of time? Just curious because I ordered the WERKS DP and was thinking about doing the ZFR turbo next. Although I still won't put down the numbers you will because we don't have E85 here in CT.🙁

Have any side by side pics of the turbos? That'd be cool to see! definitely interested in your results. Are there any beefier clutches available?

Wow that's a big difference! And that bolts right up? When is the car expected to be done?

should be done today/tomorrow... I think there are some minor tweeks needed to be done to fit the zfr (based on the other post of the forged motor). I have seen the cobalt guys have to grind the brackets that hold it on, i didn't realize it was that much bigger. lol
Can't wait to see #s and the progress
yeah, like i stated, im going for a little more on the conservative side. With a 3" catless downpipe, Atmosphere BPV, ZZP Intake, and trifecta tune on 93 octane, i made 257whp on a mustang dyno. Im going to be happy with about 100 more, so on a conservative tune were shooting for 380. Maybe this winter il do springs/cam/clutch and bump it up to mid 4's.

Not bad to the wheels! I'm sure they can tune it to get to your 380whp goal. Goodluck getting traction!!! Haha!

yeah i think they plan on putting it at 400 ..... I better hope my cane and wheelchair dont fly out the back of this buick, lol.

Yeah you're going to surprise a lot of young whippersnappers in their foreign cars on the way to bingo with that thing.

Good luck, nice numbers :headbang:

gona try and match the power of this car with just e85 , i wont have the same curve thou in hp or tq but im gona try and get close to his numbers on stock turbo

Don't forget about the rest of us, I submitted my data logs 2 weeks ago I'm still waiting

I think the max on stock turbo is 330... and even then it falls on its face after 5krpm

Can't wait to see the sheets kranz, this is sounding pretty awesome.
