2015 Lacrosse
I have a 2015 Buick Lacrosse with the HID lights. Does anyone know how to change the bulb on it? I can't find any info online about it. Even the dealer can't give me a straight answer. They want to charge me $180 to look at it. Dealer says I might have to change the whole headlight assembly.

I don't know myself but I would suggest going to an aftermarket shop - they would probably be experts and relatively cheaper than the dealer.

Check out the below link, video #3 shows how the bulb is taken out. It's a little tricky but not all that hard. I recently changed the HIDs in my 13 Regal and I found the hardest part was getting the new HID bulb seated inside the headlight.

Thanks, I've seen that video. It's only for vehicles with the halogen bulbs. My car has HID lights, totally different system. I have surfed the internet and can't find anything on a Buick with factory HIDs.

This is a little more involved but gets into the front end removal process.
Here's some diagrams that may help.

The process for changing HID lights is exactly the same. Twist off that round black access panel and pull out the HID bulb. Again the process is exactly the same. Just make sure you get the right type of replacement (D1C, D3C are examples) The bulb you take out should be labeled.

Now if the bulb is not the problem then it could be the ballast and that would take a bit more work to replace.

I changed both of mine, my Lacrosse has the adaptive headlights. Meaning they move when you turn the steering wheel. Both bulbs cost about $250.00 . They dealers parts department wanted $250 a piece q for the bulbs. I had to take the whole front grill off to get to them. It was a pain. The dealers wanted an estimated $1500 to $$2000 to replace them. If you have a decent amount of mechanical skill you can do it. But like I said it's a pain in the butt. Just remember where all the screws and plastic clips go, and go buy about 30 plastic clips. You will need them!
