Seatbelt help needed

I have a 1987 Buick LeSabre 2 Door limited. On the front seat driver side, the shoulder retractor for the seatbelt does not work. I made the mistake of taking off the cover where the coil spring is and now I can't put it back together. Does anybody know where I can find a used replacement, or can somebody out there fix this for me? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would assume you could go to a local salvage yard and get one. They should come off with the bolt bolted into the body without flying apart.

I've had no luck there. Since my LeSabre is an 87 2 Door Limited, those parts just aren't around. I'll buy one if I could find one, and I'm also hoping there is somebody out there who can repair these. I have all the parts, just need the coil put back in. It's a little too tricky for me.

You can check www.car-part.com for a network of salvage yards that puts their parts online. You can search by zipcode and see who has the part that is closest to you.

The first thing you need to do is get the actual part number of what you're looking for. Then you can begin a more detailed search to find it whether used or new.
