Has anyone else closely examined the triangular shaped sections of the grill located above the headlight? See image below.

This section is not at all anchored or supported underneath and therefore the fiberglass weakly floats above the headlight.
I bring this topic up because when I was shopping for a TourX, I saw this area damaged at a dealer.
I'm assuming that while squeezing in between cars on the lot, somebody's shirt or jacket got hooked under the pointy side and the resulting pull created the crease you see in the below image.

I'm worried about careless neighborhood kids (while playing), or even myself (while drying the car) may snag and damage this area.
I suspect that this piece could also get damaged if pushed downwards. And for those who work on their own cars... When the hood is up, this section is even more vulnerable to snags.
Any suggestions on a remedy which will fill the void beneath and prevent snagging?
I've thought about putting a bead of clear caulk on both sides, but that seems so barbaric and frankly only one step above using electrician's tape as a fix. But after the caulk hardens, it would provide additional support from below while also preventing anything from getting underneath to snag.
Any thoughts?
