Has anyone else closely examined the triangular shaped sections of the grill located above the headlight? See image below.

This section is not at all anchored or supported underneath and therefore the fiberglass weakly floats above the headlight.

I bring this topic up because when I was shopping for a TourX, I saw this area damaged at a dealer.

I'm assuming that while squeezing in between cars on the lot, somebody's shirt or jacket got hooked under the pointy side and the resulting pull created the crease you see in the below image.

I'm worried about careless neighborhood kids (while playing), or even myself (while drying the car) may snag and damage this area.

I suspect that this piece could also get damaged if pushed downwards. And for those who work on their own cars... When the hood is up, this section is even more vulnerable to snags.

Any suggestions on a remedy which will fill the void beneath and prevent snagging?

I've thought about putting a bead of clear caulk on both sides, but that seems so barbaric and frankly only one step above using electrician's tape as a fix. But after the caulk hardens, it would provide additional support from below while also preventing anything from getting underneath to snag.

Any thoughts?

a thin coat of JB weld?

What about damage st a car wash?

Glass in carbon fiber sheets, minimal amount of material with high strength. Bubble wrap the outside mirrors from those pesky neighborhood kids also LOL.

I would run a bead of clear silicone adhesive/caulk. If done neatly should be invisible and provide some support and would be easily removable if need be.

I just went out any looked at mine, and he's not wrong, it feels a bit flimsy.

I noticed that bit stuck up noticeably on the driver's side of mine, but just loosening the torx head mounting screw, pushing it in and retightening fixed and it. It's now is tight against the underlying surface with no need for any support.

Thanks! I will definitely have to look into. That would be ideal.

I noticed how flimsy this is as well. It's something that needs attention but most likely will only be resolved by a redesign of the front grill and fascia.

Yeah, that was an easy fix. Take a T20 bit and loosen the screws, then push the end in and tighten the screws back up. It sits a lot better now.

I just got mine delivered. I noticed this also . I'll take a peek under the hood.

Where is the location of the screws mentioned above?

See yellow arrows.

This adjustment pulls the top of the grill back just a bit. Make sure that you slowly close the hood for the first time (after adjustment) to ensure the hood does not rub on the grill.

I had this problem where the ”wings” gradually were moving away from the hood when closed. I had my car in for the 22.9 upgrade and while it was there the body shop had a chance to take a look at it.

turns out during assembly in Deutschland someone missed a couple of fasteners. They were able to fix it up and the wings haven’t decided to take flight since.
