"The Dreamer" 2003 LeSabre Limited

Thank you so much for this! You are a lifesaver!
confirm that the direction of the connection (male-to-female) is correct for the pump you buy. on the page for it on amazon people half/half said it was right/wrong

Finally got gas pump fixed few months ago by my friend who are into old cars and a mechanic like his father. He is awesome!

I am now looking for front dashboard and console to replace. That will be next soon!

Right sideview mirror stopped going back up to normal position few seconds after reversing the car. I had to manually adjust that back to normal position each time. When it attempted to go back up, there was a clicking sound, like if it was struggling to get it back up.

We need to make a list for him dont we.
UIM
LIM gaskets
Coolant elbows
Trans mount (front)
Lower control arms
Transgo shift kit.
New ignition coils,wires and plugs.
Check front valve cover for leak.
Rear shocks.
Oil pressure sender.
Hvac actuators.

All of these are either bad or will be soon.
I will check that list out when we move from Tennessee to Ohio. My friend who lives there are good with car stuff. He will help me out with that list.

My PA has the same exact issue. If it was caused by a broken gear tooth, why does it return to the normal position when using the button to move it?. I hope one of our members has the cause identified.

i would disable the option in buick options feature menu (look in owners manual) so you dont have to adjust it

the system likely has a fail safe or thinks its at the extreme of the adjustment if its unable to move the mirror with the automated return, so it stops (to not break anything and not wear things out, or has a time out that it must complete in a window and if its not there it doesnt care and it stops)

You are probably correct that there is some sort of feedback telling the automated command to either stop, or is confusing it to tell the mirror to lower, this the jittery clicking for s few seconds.

On my vehicle, the auto-lower feature when in reverse feature is turned off, but the mirror continues to lower when in reverse for Driver 2 and then we get stuck in this cycle.

I do have a second passenger mirror that I bought years ago from member @Drakito, so I will plug that in and see if it is a mirror limit switch issue before I bother to hard mount it.

It’ll be a few weeks to get to this, but I will report back and this thread can either be conclusive, or eliminate another possibility.

Jittery clicking usually means one or more of the following:
  • the plastic gears are messed up
  • there is something impeding the movement in that direction (grease, wires, debris, etc.)
  • intermittent power provided to the motor (much less likely)
What it means is that at least the motor turns!

Please do let me know when you get that figured out. I have other projects to do on hand.

Thank you all for useful feedback!

If you take the VIN # to a GM dealer they can print out a build sheet that shows and explains all of the codes for the options on the car.
