I've searched but haven't found any threads. Looking for springs/shocks to tighten suspension on TourX. In other words, ruin the suspension for better handling.

It would appear that only H&R makes a sport spring kit for the Insignia. Don’t hold your breath for much else in the aftermarket as this car is a rare bird anywhere in the world.

Thanks Rhetoric. Didn't expect much but hoped there might be something. I'm coming out of a Mazda wagon and thought the Buick being German would have more of a Euro suspension tune. Just trying to cut down on body roll in cornering. Not disappointed with my TourX, only wanted to make it a bit better.

not for the Insignia B with AWD....at least not yet...but every passing day makes me think it isn't likely to happen.

It might be a long while if ever to get aftermarket suspension upgrades for this platform. Limited sales in the US and the TÜV requirements in Germany are pretty strict for modifying components. It's possible but expensive so companies don't go after low sales vehicles for modification.

I'm in the same boat as you. While I love the car's design and features, it's a night and day difference coming from my modified Subaru Outback. I'm constantly searching for ways to improve the handling of the car which is limited for the awd drivetrain.
I recently installed H&R springs and those have provided a noticeable firm/planted feeling but I haven't put much mileage since. I'm still waiting/hoping that Bilstein, Tokiko, KYB, or anyone releases an adjustable performance strut/shock, but I'd prefer a true coilover kit from KW.
I believe Eibach offers a swaybar kit for the fwd model and the front bar should be interchangeable as my limited research in PNs and suspension configuration look the same in the front.
The stock Conti tires are horrible and need to go if you're looking to really improve the feel/handling of the car.

Did you find the oem suspension to be noisier than the subaru? I'm having a hard time knowing if I have a suspension issue or if you just hear every bump you hit. I feel like the springs don't push the wheel and strut down hard enough to keep good contact with the road and so it bounced more. I'm used to VWs and subarus.

i just want some firmer rear shocks. are there any trim levels that had more heavy duty ones?

Mine is quiet. I felt the stock suspension to be too soft and the car would sway & wallow through any type of reasonable load. I know it's meant to be soft so it's cushy but when your last car had suspension on the opposite end of the spectrum, it's a unsettling feeling.

The car does roll quite a bit, so I agree it's hard to get used to. I'm having regrets on this car for multiple reasons, I'm just at the point where I don't know if I trade it in for a loss, or just remedy my complaints for a few grand and keep it till it dies. New tires are on my list, then I guess looking at firming up the suspension behind my husband back.

I know what you're feeling... The springs help a great deal, but it's definitely not going to feel anything like a sports car, but it's still a noticeable improvement. Tires and firmer shocks will help even more, but for now the springs have helped. Even with the faults, it's satisfies most of my needs of daily/family/bike hauler. Plus I'm not driving the way I used to, especially when I have the kiddo in the back.

I will save my pennies and just do it eventually after new tires. I know the cornering won't be the same as my golf tdi, so I'm resolved that I drive a yacht now instead of a jet ski.

Your perspective is interesting to me. After years of my body getting beat down in MK1 Rabbits with coilovers and my MKIV TDI wagon with Konis, springs, and HP summer tires... I'll take the TourX over those any day of the week. I finally feel relaxed when running errands or taking a multi-day road trip.

To each their own, but I know I've noticed I have a less aggressive driving demeanor in the TourX.

I wouldn't want to ruin what I consider very good ride quality of the TourX. Well controlled but not too firm. I think that better tires would do wonders for a car that has a quite excellent AWD system that actually tries to improve driving in all conditions not just to get you out of a snow drift.

Today I had a little fun chasing a GTI driver up a cloverleaf style on ramp to the local interstate. Neither one of us would back off until the car started to slide but I noticed due to the twin clutch AWD system my slides were 4 wheel, not just the front wheels. Neither of us would back off until the tires squealed. (The poor guy kept looking in his rear view mirror, a little shocked to see the tri-shield behind him.)

I imagine some good tires would make it even easier to surprise other drivers.

Are you sure the poor guy in the GTI is shocked by the tri-shield and not because of seeing his good'ol principal hunting him down? 😆

I was thinking the same thing about having your principal chase you down lol. I'm sure there are some adults who are still scared of their principal.
