Lesabre
Hi,new here I recently purchased a 1984 lesabre and would like to put the widest rear tire that will fit without rubbing. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you

Your OEM tire size will be located on a door sticker. It's most likely what is on the car now. My suggestion would be to drive-on to the local tire store where you might be purchasing these tires and they can help you calculate the "widest" tire.

1984 came from the factory with 14" wheels using 205/75x14 or 15" wheels with 215/75x15 or 225/75x15. So the largest factory tire was the 225/75x15.

On the rear, width is only going to be limited by the wheel offset or spacers. You could run a 5 foot wide tire with the right offset.
Yea I guess that's what I was trying to figure out. How does one figure out what offset I can run?
Again thanks for everyone's help

I believe that was an exaggeration. The tire has to be within the width of the wheel well unless you make suspension modifications. You measure your current clearance and then determine what width you can use. Again largest factory used was 225.
