Thank you responding!
I bought the two Cloyes kits from Rock Auto as well. The only thing GM in the two kits was the oil nozel.
That being said, this is what I discovered after trying to install Cloyes..the timing chain marks were opposite from old chain and did not match up and it was missing a link, the timing tensioner was completely rusted, the timing tensioner guide and the upper timing guide was so loose that the plastic had massive movement(up down and side to side play)..the plastic was not seated onto the metal, the
intake cam phaser teeth did not match to old one(one tooth on Cloyes phaser was off by 1/32). This resulted in trying for 2 hours to slightly rotate
intake cam to get exhaust cam phaser in place. Because of the defects, I was fighting to get exhaust cam in place and I over rotated and the
intake cam slipped 4 times on me. Now I'm in the exhaust stroke but marks line up. I now have to redo it all again today and hope I can get that compression stroke back.
I put the old chain and phasers back on to see and yep! Cloyes sucks! I contacted Cloyes yesterday as I do know Don and Cody a little and I hope they can give me some insight as to why my parts are garbage.
Now for the dealership part ordering..they are four times more expensive than Rock Auto. Also I got informed yesterday that GM is putting crappy Chinese parts in their parts list. A guy bought some seals and gaskets from the dealership and when he opened the box, there was multiple packages and all said "made in China". Everything is crap unless you have old school vehicles.
Again thank you for you info and response.
