Hi All, looking to this thread for resolution of a similiar problem with the power liftgate opening and closing as shown. Vehicle is a 2018 tourx, 78k miles. No problems up until now. Trying not to go too far down the rabbit hole before taking it to the dealer.
So far I have:
* Reset the module by disconnecting the battery and pulling the liftgate fuse.
* inspected the pinch sensors.
*checked interior leftgate settings (rotary knob and kick sensor is on).
* cleaned the (4) liftgate sensors.
* replaced the helper strut.
Next step would be to replace the power actuator strut. Up until when this video (which I can't upload) was taken, the liftgate would go up about halfway and then closes very quickly. Now it goes up about 6 inches and closes at a normal speed so thinking the power actuator strut is failing. Also to note, the light up buick emblem in the rear went dark at the same time the lifgate started acting up. Hoping someone can offer some insight. Thanks in advance.
