We bought a 2012 regal turbo about 7 months ago. it has 35,000 miles on it now. We have had one issue in particular that i dont think should happen. We live in western NC, so when we go to Knoxville TN, we take "the dragon", or US 129. if you arent familiar, it is full of steep, deep curves, 318 to be exact. in December we went and about half way around, when i would go into a curve, it would feel like the traction control, or ABS system were doing something. the brake pedal would pulse, and the axle or wheels would start doing something that would slow the vehicle down. it was a rough, jumpy grinding feel, the steering would also be affected. I thought it may be traction control, so i turned it off. it still did it. it did same thing when we came back around the dragon. We have drove it around WNC for 4 months, no issues since then on any of the other curvy roads we have around here. last week we went back around the dragon to knoxville. i turned the traction control off before i ever got to the major curves. it did fine until i got about 4 miles or so. it started doing the same thing. it did same thing when we came back. it did not matter what speed. it did it at 15-25 mph, and it did it at 35-40 mph. I took it monday to the buick dealer, it was put on computer but nothing showed up. i dont know if its something that only happens when brakes get hot or if it is something that just happens. they told me at the dealer it was Traction control activating. i explained i had it turned off.
has anyone else had anything remotely similar to this happen. it is hard to explain exactly whats happening, so i did best i could

Have you taken it through any other roads as gruesome as the dragon and had the same effects. Been through it twice, enough to give any car\motorcycle, and it's driver a good workout. Very possible the brakes are getting overheated, but not sure how overheating brakes will cause the abs to kick in. Abs can be controlled through traction control, but i'm pretty sure it is a separate system than the traction control and traction control can utilize the abs system. So even with traction control disabled abs should still function. If you remove the abs fuse, next time you go through it, you may be able to better tell what is happening, but you will not have either abs or traction control and need to consider this while going through your roller coaster ride. Doesn't seem like a safe option to tell the truth. But i think it is the abs that is kicking in not traction control. As far as the steering wheel, not really sure, if you have progressive steering it might not know how to handle such a terrain, the dragon is definitely the best way to test your suspension, 11 miles with 318 curves, many of them hairpins. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._Route_129. For those not familiar. Maybe next time if it starts doing it, pretty sure there are plenty of spots to pull off the road to enjoy the scenery, maybe let the brakes cool of for 20 or 30 minutes, and see if it does any better. Safer than removing the fuse.

we have alot of curvy roads here, and I havent had any problems. I have had it on HWY 28 South, which is pretty similar to 129, but i didnt have any issues. Either road is a test for any suspension, brakes, and/or tires. The car is a fun car to drive, and my wife loves it. I am not sure if it has progressive steering or not, Im not familiar with it.

Progressive steering is power steering on steroids pretty much, depending on the speed the car is going there is a motor (on the ones I've seen) in the base of the steering column, it gives it variable power assist depending on the speed of the car, i was thinking braking and accelerating going through curve after curve might be overtaxing the system.
