I am very interested in purchasing the Encore, but before I take the plunge, I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a hitch available for rear mounting. I am not interested in towing anything. I just want to use my current bike rack. I could not find anything from Curt's Webpage and Buick does not show it as an add on. The local dealership could not answer my question.

Roof mounting is not an option for us.

Curt Manufacturing will have one available in a couple of weeks according to their tech department. Keep checking their web site. I'll be ordering one as soon as it's available, also for a bike rack.

thanks! I will check there in a few weeks.

Good news. My hitch installer was told 2-3 weeks and then called me yesterday and said he had just received it. I drove right there, he installed it and I used it with my bike rack today. It looks great. Although not truly hidden like it was on my 2012 Ford Focus, it is so recessed that it is hardly noticeable at all. I highly recommend it. Oh...the receiver is a little more recessed than it was on my Focus, but it's not a problem with my 2 bike rack. I just have to get down on both knees to tighten the bolt.

I found this kit for Opel Mokka, It's include in the owner manual .... Kit for 3 bikes on rear bumper .... Probably available just in Europe, but ....

Did it say how much weight it can hold? Looks like three bikes would be slightly over 100 lbs?

I see both \urt and Draw-tite have hitches available now.

Totally cool. The video for the white Mokka looks James Bond-ish.

I purchased a class II hitch from Curtis for my wife's 2013 Encore. It is made in U.S. and it was so darn easy to install. Took me about 30 minutes. I did not have to remove any rear bumper molding or anything at all. The receiver hangs just below the bumper. I bought her a Thule 4 bike hitch rack. Holds 4 bikes no issue what so ever. I could not be happier. Love that Encore. Drove it to lake George with Bikes and Luggage still averaged 30 mph

I bought the Curt hitch for our 2014 Encore. The 2013 was supposed to be the same but the holes on the vertical supports are different than the 2013. They have threads on the inside of the frame so Curt is sending the bolts that should fit this. They had one other 2014 that had this issue.

That's strange. I have a 2013 and just bought and mounted the Curt hitch, and my 2013 most definitely has the built in nut plates in the frame.

I called Curt customer service and they were unsure which year models had the built in nut plates and which did not. (And, BTW, they did not send me the bolts that would work, I had to buy those!!)

If you don't have the nuts welded into your frame from the factory, you have to use Curt's parts kit that comes with the hitch, and it has these fancy pull wires that you pull a nut through your frame to bolt up the hitch.

If you don't have the nut plates from the factory, and want a hitch, I suggest taking in to the dealer and let them mount the hitch because it looks like a pain to do without the built in nuts.

Mine mounted right up with no problem and I couldn't be happier with the Curt hitch. Now I need a new bike rack !!!
