Transmission control module problem?

I have a 2015 base Verano with about 117k miles. Occasionally when I’m stopped my check engine will illuminate, and my car will refuse to accelerate. This happens maybe once every 3 days, after a few hrs my check engine light will turn its self off. I took it to the dealer and they said it’s the TCM and will cost 1350. Has anyone else had a similar problem?

Yes it threw the P0601-00 code.

Can't find a P0601-00 code, only a P0601 which points to the PCM/ECM.
Rockauto sells the AC-Delco TCM for $479, did they give you a breakdown between parts and labor?

Yep they did. All of the dealerships in my area have me estimates between like 1200-1500. About 50% labor 50% parts. Are you familiar with this code tho? My only concern is that it’s not only the TCM but other things as well.

I actually originally took it to a mechanic. But they told me it had to go to a dealer because they are the only one who can program it.

I did not. Is this something a dealer doesn’t have to do, even if it involves programming the module? I didn’t take it anywhere except the dealer because I was told that it could only be done by a dealer by the og mechanic I took it to

Having this problem now I have 2014 Buick verano. The stability track will engage for no reason and cause all electronics to act up and my car jumps into random gear and gets stuck in 3rd gear

Having that exact problem right now. Really can't afford that. Looking for one at a salvage lot, hopefully I can do it cheaper
