i have not too recently posted a thread about the issue i am having, it is outdated, and i cannot edit it, so i will make a better more up to date one.

the transmission is still having the same issue, i will describe what i am experiencing as detailed as possible.

what happens usually happens when the transmission is warmed up, after cruising at a steady speed for extended periouds after a complete stop or slowing down too a crawl, usually the transmission will shift into what feels like first with a clunk, i will accelerate and the car will go without a fuss in first gear, no slippage! then when it is supposed to shift into second, it does not, RPMs climb, and it stays in first until the engine reaches about 3000 too 3500RPM, then... the engine revvs freely like its dropped into neutral, revving as high as 4,000 4,500RPM, then you can feel the transmission smoothly shift into second gear without slippage... and it will continue to go through all the gears smooth as glass without slippage, and usually will not happen for the rest of my trip. i can come to complete stops and crawls, and accelerate with no hard or slipping shifts. No codes are thrown pretaining to the transmission, no MIL light is lit, i had a person that looks at transmissions plug a transmission monitoring tool in, and it has no issues that he sees. the Torque converter clutch operates as it should at all temps and speeds.

i have done a transmission fluid and filter change but not a flush, i have replaced the throttle position sensor, the Map sensor, have inspected wiring, and inspected the vehicle speed sensor and it was good, none of these things have fixed the issue... i have reserched and looked around, and not yet found a answer that makes sense...

a slipping tranny, or a bad set of valves or solonoids should set a code at least in the history, and hard shifting afterwords should result, as a 4T65E will go into long shift adapt mode... what is the problem i am experiencing?

warn clutch bands
i have been told warn clutch bands, but this does not make sense, if it was warn clutch bands, the issues wouldn't be intermittent, the transmission would throw at least a P1811 in the history, and would go into long shift adapt, it is not doing any of these things

valve body warn, or debris in valve body
i have been told this, if this was the case, there are no codes for the valve body, the transmission does not go into long shift adapt, and the issue seems too intermittent to have this be the case

warn imput clutch apply pistons
this typically happens when cold and is usually not intermittent, once again i would start experiencing hard shifting as the PCM would notice this and throw the transmission into long shift adapt...

if the transmission has internal issues, it typically goes into long shift adapt mode too compensate for slippage or improper operation, i susspect somewhere a input sensor is bad or electrical issues interlinking with the transmission are causing it, beacuse it is so intermittent and happens only after long drives at steady speeds, rather than city driving which usually reveals the issues stated above!

i am looking for electrical issues that happen with these cars that would cause false neutrals or for the car too hold gears.

Check for codes with a TECH 2 diagnostic tool.
You cannot trust anything else to be accurate.

I still say it is your 1-2 shift valve. I do not have my shop manual in front of me and not sure it will tell me "the" answer but I know that when such things happen codes are not ALWAYS set. I do know the shift valves go bad or wear. And storage in history is specific code dependant; some are stored longer than others. For some, only a couple good cycles will delete the code set by the one bad cycle.

the thing is would it not cause the transmission to go into long shift adapt, or could that be delayed also, a shift solenoid would make perfect sense beacuse i know they can falter intermittently, but i know how easily these transmissions will go into long shift adapt from experience.

this too me is just frustrating beacuse the one thing i am experiencing should do several things, if it is a 1-2 shift solenoid i should see codes for 1-2 shift solenoids and long shift adapt? beacuse it takes well over 60-120 seconds to go into second gear, and long shift adapt should engage with .6 seconds or less delay between gears?
