Buick Ownership
Encore sport
Hello all. I have searched the internet high and low to find an answer, but alas I couldn’t. I have a 2016 Encore sport, my issue is I’m the second owner and I had my own iPhone paired to the radio, along with the previous owner and their 4. I just got a new phone and went to pair it only to find that all 5 slots are full and I need to delete one. I go through the steps to delete any of them and when I get to the final delete page on the radio I hit the center “enter” button for yes and the screen doesn’t go blank but just has the orange box around outside edge and where the yes and no boxes where on the screen
Am I doing something wrong or is there a simple fix to unpair the old phones. I don’t have any of these phones( do they need to be in the vacinity of the radio to unpair)?

From poster DocBrown (see link below): "This is not in the owners manual but it should be. This will sound strange but this does work. Even the dealer did not know how to do this.

Remove any USB devices that may be connected. Turn the key on but don't start it. Then turn it off. Open the driver side door and leave it open for a full 5 minutes. Close the door. You will now be able to delete old devices."

THIS ACTUALLY WORKED! I honestly thought Steve was joking. This is my first car that’s Bluetooth enabled, considering all the other crazy things we have todo to get things working- this really isn’t that farfetched. Thank you Steveyo.

The thanks really goes to a Cruze forum I found this on shortly after we got the Encore. Our dealer couldn't figure it out. They had the procedure right. What they didn't know was the door has to remain open for 5 full minutes. They were just opening and closing it.

Well, given that there are way too many bad actors on the internet, it's nice to see that people sharing and helping one another via the internet is alive and well.🙂

Be sure to turn off the Bluetooth on your phone and unplug all cords from the USB ports. IT WORKED! (after I did that)

How does this work with a push button start? I'm not understanding how to turn it on without starting it....any help would be appreciated! 😃
