Just purchased a 2012 Buick Lacrosse Touring, and noticed that the ventilated seats turn off when I turn the car off. I want to remote start the car with the A/C full blast (which it does), but I also want it to turn on the ventilated seats (so everything is cool when I get in). Does anyone know if and how this can be done?😕

Unless something has changed from the 11 to 12 model the seats do cool when you use the remote start, the lights on the push button are not on.

Thanks. So, if I understand this right, you would just leave the seats on when turning off the car, and they will come back on when remote starting, and I have to assume that works for the heated part as well??

This is straight from the GM eSI (service information) for the seat theory of operation.

Remote Start Seat Heating and Ventilation

Some vehicles allow the customer to configure their heated and/or ventilated seats to come on after a remote start is commanded. The heated seats will only come on if the outside air temperature is below 50°F as measured by the outside air temperature sensor. Seat ventilation will only come on if the outside air temperature is measured above 80°F. When seat heating is commanded, the heating level will be on the "High" setting. On some vehicles, the LED display for the heating or ventilation temperature level may not illuminate during remote start operation. When the vehicle operator inserts the key in the ignition and turns it to the "On" position, the heated seats will automatically turn off. Be aware that during remote start heated seat operation, since there is no occupant in the seat, the customer may comment that they feel little or no difference in the temperature of the seat. This is due to little heat transfer to the seat cover occurring since there is no weigh on the cushion. Once the seat is occupied and the seat cover is pressed against the heater element, heat will begin to transfer more rapidly to the seat cover.

the last settings are irrelevant when remote starting the LaCrosse...in some cars the most recent settings are initiated at remote start, for e.g., in my Sonic

jft69z - The GM eSI you noted says "SOME" vehicles allow you to "CONFIGURE" Seats. I was hoping that the link would take me to the GM eSI for more info. It was Broke, so... Do I have to do some configuring, because I did not see this in any of the menu options in the car. "SOME", I hope means: 2012 Buick Lacrosse Touring. Thanks!!

Our cars have you program it in the customization settings you can do thru the NAV screen. I forget exactly where it is, but it IS in there someplace. I won't be near the car until later tonight, but I'm sure you can find it pretty easy. I think they meant "Some" to be if your car has those option packages installed.

Like MadMax said, it has nothing to do with your last settings on this car, they (Buick) have you program it in & the car takes care of it all for you based on outside temperatures. My 2009 GMC truck bases it on the last settings like his Sonic, however it DOES take the outside temps into account (it won't turn the A/C on if it is -20 degrees) . Example- if I left the A/C on when turning the truck off, upon remote start it will be on when I get in. If it was off, it will stay off with the remote start.

The Gm eSi is something I have to pay for, there would be no direct link that would take you there.

EDIT: I just looked online for the 2012 owner's manual & it looks like it is in the vehicle personalization section starting at page 5-43. Go to the part where it addresses the heated & ventilated seat functions (page 5-44). It's pretty straight forward. You can also program the remote front & rear defog to come on here as well.
