want to upgrade sway bars

My bars have FINALLY passed through customs.

I installed Moog poly bushings in stock sizes on my convertible and was very happy with the improvement 😎
Vague info? Nothing seems to be available for a current year Regal

I am going to start with the rear bar and see what the improvements are. I may install Wednesday... depends on Thanksgiving activities. The front appears to require a full subframe drop and I will likely wait until I can get it into my friend’s shop.

So it was a rough winter where I live and I waited a bit to install the rear bar. The rear bar was a perfect fit. It really settles the cars in corners and it finishes the current expectations. I am considering whether to install the front bar. I am also considering a set of SF coilovers... either way the car is really good now and any new improvements will make it even better. 1F3DCAF3-9A62-4A85-BCBE-0F4F6A9FF207.jpegCF74D64E-55EC-4DD3-ADB0-6C7154D4EE58.webp

Kevjam thanks for your review. I really would like to replace my rear bar only. Im 72 and not going to
drop the frt. sub frame for the front. Besides my my BUTT G meter tells me the rear needs the most help.
Wondering if it is possible to order a rear bar only?

You can order the front bar only but it works out to be roughly the same price. I worked with Eibach in Germany and they priced both directions and they don’t offer the rear bar with the bushings as a kit... so you have to order the bar and bushings separately. With the shipping, it was a $40 difference. I ended up shopping exchange rates and found the best deal with a dealer in Poland.

I am not going to say my discussions with Eibach were the end all but that was my experience. There may be someone else out there that has found someone selling the rear kit. Hoping for the best for you...

Thanks so much for your reply. Appreciate it. If I may ask, what did you pay for the kit/

FYI … my Eibach set is for sale if anyone is interested. Life change drove me to sell the car. My loss is your gain.

If you know, what is involved in installing the front bar?
Rear bar install is simple. Jack up rear of car, support the car and unbolt six retaining bolts for the sway bar. Reinstall and preload the suspension and tighten everything done to spec.

The front is a little more difficult. You will need to lift the car, support the car, loosen the front of the subframe and drop the rear of the subframe and slide out the bar and slide in the new bar. Bar will only require six bolts removal. The subframe will require approximately six additional large format bolts. In order to complete an efficient install, I would recommend a platform lift and an air impact.

In general, I would recommend a shop install unless you are skilled or want a project.

I never installed the front bar. The rear bar completely changed the characteristics of the suspension dynamics. With both bars installed, the car will devour curves at a very high rate of speed.

In many ways, I would have loved to kept the car and moved forward with my plans for it…. But we had no need for two cars and a truck and I couldn’t not beat the money I made on selling the car at this time in the market.

Let me know if you have other questions. Have a great one!
