What did you do to your Regal today?

Looks like those Brackets were used on the Buick Regals from 2009-2017.
I see they also use similar brackets on the Buick Lacrosse 2010-2016, Chevy Malibu
2013-2015, Malibu Limited 2016 & Impala to 2014-2020.
The Opel Insignia A MK1 2008-2017 also uses these brackets.

Cutsuprme,
I happened to notice one of those Brackets on my Regal the other day while I
was putting a Jackstand under the car.
I needed to change my oil & filter, I jacked up the car with my Hydraulic Jack
on the Drivers Side, then Slid a Jackstand under it.
I like the Car leaning that way when changing the Oil (drains better).
Sure enough, when I started crawling under, there was one of those brackets
at the Front Drivers side.

Good news, the Oil & Filter are changed!

Been having a problem with my car not recognizing the Remotes lately.
It wasn't happening every time, just occasionally at first, then a bit more
once it got colder outside.

The Car's Battery is about 5-6 years old, and the Remote Batteries weren't even 2 years old.
One of the Remotes gets used most of the time and the other rarely gets used.
I started having trouble when I used the Remote that doesn't get a lot of use, but
then all of the sudden the remote that does get used started giving me trouble.

Yesterday, I couldn't open the Doors with the Remotes or the Buttons on the Handles.
I used the Key to open the door, but then the Alarm went off because the car couldn't
recognize the remote (this happened twice).
Also had trouble getting the car to shut off, it said the Remote Wasn't Detected (the Engine
shut off but the Electronics wouldn't).

Anyway, getting to the point: it was the Remote Batteries that were going bad.
Replaced both Remote Batteries and now everything is back to normal.
I'm sure glad it wasn't the Car's Battery needing replaced!

Kind of a story. Wife came home yesterday and the digital speedo wasn't working, the digital fuel was was saying low, and a few other things on our '17 Regal turbo AWD. Battery turned out to be low. Charged it overnight and tested it with my Launch battery tester. Battery was bad, so what I did to my Regal today was drive 50kms (31 miles) into the city to get a new battery under warranty and drive back home and install it. All troubles cleared up. Easy fix.

I'm glad mine wasn't the battery, it would have cost me around $125-$160
depending upon the manufacturer.
I try not to spend money on myself around Christmas time, I've got
a lot of kids and Grandkids to buy for.
I really didn't mind spending $10 for the Remote Batteries vs. $160 for a Battery.

Do you think a multimeter on the remote battery would tell if it was OK?

The 2022 Encore GX my wife is driving takes a second try to start the vehicle. The vehicle recognizes and starts. But I wonder..

And I agree, the $ seem to fly off the shelf this time of year - and we're still in a cash-flow recovery mode. This is a pretty minor item, but I don't like just throwing money at things to see if it's "the fix"

Would love to have used my Multimeter to check them, but someone
broke my multimeter (mine was the old-fashioned style).
I keep forgetting to buy another, I'm sure I'll remember one of these days.

The Readout in the center of the gauges finally told me my Remote Battery
was Bad and to Replace it.
Up until then, it was only telling me it Couldn't Detect my Remote, but then
it would start.
I was pretty sure it was the Remote Batteries, but having both Remote Batteries
go bad at the same time was just too weird (1st remote heavily used and the
other (2nd) remote rarely used).

Been feeling like Spring around here the last 3-4 days.
On Monday, my neighbor asked me to Come over and Wash her Truck for her.
She's got too much rust on it and the Car Washes won't let her go
thru any longer.
I went over and washed her Truck, she paid me $15 even though I told her No!

I then went home, hooked up our hose, and washed my Wife's SUV.
She Had to Work Tuesday, so I figured I'd better wash hers first.
I was just too exhausted after washing and drying her SVU to wash my Regal.

So, Tuesday, after it warmed up a bit, I went out and washed/dried my Regal.
It's been sitting a lot lately and boy is it a dust/dirt magnet.
Then we get light rains which really sets the Dust & Dirt in!
Anyway, almost forgot how good that Dark Sapphire Blue Metallic looks.
No rain in the forecast until late Friday/early Saturday, so it should stay
fairly clean for a couple more days.

Set my wastegate to spec. Replaced my turbo with (now I know its chinese) a new one from ZZP and car ripped for around 1mo. Slowly regressed to have no boost and underboost constantly. Heard rattling just thought it was the heat shield on the downpipe/cat but it was the wastegate rattling inside the hot side. Followed the manual and did 3 turns after it was hand tight and the car is back to normal. No idea how long it will last though.

It's great that you were able to buy and install a New Turbo.
It's Really Sad that everything we buy here is made in China (not made to last).
I Hope it proves me wrong and lasts you for a long time!
Every time I replace something on my car or house I worry about where it
was made and how long it will last.

Hopefully I'll sell the car before I have any issue with the hotside! A buick regal isn't the most ideal car to live out of. My needs are changing.

I recently installed the OTTP short shifter and love it. Really nice addition to the car.

I also added a small 8" kicker sub. The factory bose system is really nice (to my untrained ears) but I wanted a little more bass to help fill the space. Not so much that it just creates obnoxious noise and rattles, but bass that actually compliments the existing system. Super happy with the kicker, that little 8" does more than I expected. So far I only have it at the base setting per the manual, but it's plenty.

I purchased a New Set of OEM Wheels for my Regal last week, they finally arrived.
The Old Wheels have quite a bit of Curb Rash.
Someone (whoever owned the car before me), had painted over the Curb Rash
and the paint has come off over the past 6 years exposing the Curb Rash.
The Wheels are identical to the wheels that are on my car now, minus the curb rash.

I also Ordered a Set of Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 Plus Tires.
The Tires should be here Saturday, May 31st, I have an appointment set for the install at 1:00pm.
I've also purchased a New Set of AC Delco TPMS Sensors.
These tires will be replacing the General AltiMax RT45's that were on the car when I purchased it.
The General Tires still have quite a bit of the tread left and I'm thinking about
just leaving them on the wheels they are currently on and using them as Winter
Wheels/Tires.

I have also been ordering a few things: Rear Spring Insulators and Front and Rear Sway Links so far.
Oh yeah, bought a New Chicago Bears Plate for the Front of my Regal, the Old Plate (Sublimation
Plate) was Badly Faded.
I still need to place an order for: KYB Strut-Plus for the Front, KYB Shock and Mount Assembly for
Rear and finally Rear Springs.

Just waiting to make sure I have enough money left to be able to place that order after the Tires
and Install (waiting for hidden charges).
If I don't have enough $$$$, that order will have to wait a day or two!
Finally, once I have all this work done, I will be getting a 4 Wheel Alignment!

Good choice on the Continentals, replaced my original Pirellis which were getting old, hard and noisy.

Malo83,
What Kind of Gas Mileage do you get with your Continental Extreme Contact tires?

The Generals weren't too bad, but the sidewalls feel a little soft these days.
It may be the Sway Links and not the tires?
I should be out there today changing out those Sway Links, but the wife has
me doing other things.
I do have the Sway Links in the works to replace, very soon.
The parts are in my garage waiting on me to install them.

We've had much cooler weather this spring and it would be a great time
to be sitting out in my driveway doing this work.
But with the cooler temps comes rain (at least here).

The Generals I have are Quiet Tires but I don't think they were all that great for mileage.
Who knows, could be something else?
Maybe they weren't the best, but I think they handled well.

No Tires Today (Saturday May 31st), looks like I'll have to wait until Monday, June 2nd,
but I'm not gonna hold my breath.
I wasted 20 minutes trying to call them before my 1:00pm appointment to make sure the
tires were there, no one answered the phone (like the guy that helped me order the tires
told me to do, making sure the tires had arrived)!
I did waste a half an hour driving over there, then another Hour talking to three people
that didn't have a clue (the 4th person figured it out)!
Kinda glad it didn't happen today, I talked to a guy that was waiting on his car to be done
and he'd already been there 3 hours!

Got a Text at 6:20am this morning (Sunday) telling me my Appointment had been cancelled.
The only appointment I had set up was for yesterday, Saturday, May 31st.
So they were texting me a Day Late to tell me the appointment had been cancelled? LOL
I saw today Sunday, June 1st) that they've taken the Money out of my Checking Account,
this time, so maybe this time the tires are really on their way?

Glad I wasn't holding my breath, now they're saying Friday, June 6th for my Tires!
Sure glad I didn't want the Tires so I could go on a vacation!

Well, they were wrong.
The Tires are here today and I'm getting them install as I type.
I'm getting them put on my New OEM Wheels, then on my car.
I was going to keep the old tires on the old wheels for Winter
tires, but the guy said the tires (especially one of them) had Dry
Rot on the Sidewalls.
He showed me the Dry Rot, so I'm not doubting his word!
Guess it could be that I don't drive enough, just over 15,000 miles
in 6 years?

With my Back the way it is I never really get down there and
look at the tires.
I really should get down there and look at them from time to
time, but I don't.
I could see the tires had lots of tread left and I always felt the
groove to make sure what I was seeing wasn't an optical illusion.
Pretty sure I will be inspecting the tires a little closer from now on!

Okay, they're finally on, New Wheels and Tires !
Only took 5 hours: Yes, That's Not A Typo, it took 5 hours of my
life that I'll never get back!
As Forest Gump would say: "That's all I'm gonna say about that!"

I was ready to give up on one of my remotes. New battery didn't help so I cleaned the contacts inside the remote as well as the battery with contact cleaner and it's working again.
