Buick Ownership
Buick Regal TourX
The tires that came on the TourX is one of the worst tires in my opinion. I have been looking at various tires and was curious what you've replaced your tires with.

Who thought putting foam in tires were a good idea.

The front tires on my 2018 FWD lasted almost 11 months and I replaced them with Michelin Premier A/S because I got a killer deal on them
They are pretty good. Much better in the wet than the original 245-45-18 Continental ProContact. Also Quieter and did very well in the snow. I got them in February, so I was able to test them thoroughly in the snow.
The tread wears much slower than the Continentals.

If I had to pay full price for a set of tires, I would definitely get Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+
I wouldn't think twice.

Michelin PSS tires 235/50-18 for ~$95ea
I'll know how they work 2 years from now at the rate I'm using the tourX. At $89ea., I couldn't pass them up. Will be using it more once the Cobra goes off road early October.
Also Mr, Thrifty is bargain hunting for Nokian snow tires and rims for winter.

I run Michelin PSS as well but they are 245/35/20 so are a little more expensive to replace. For outright performance and grip in all road conditions there is not much better out there.

Worst in what way?

Comfort; noise; dry handling; wet handling; hydroplaning; longevity(probably don’t know yet); snow traction; ice traction; even wear...I could go on and on.

I had no complaints but found the deal on Michelin PSS that the other Mike jumped on too. Still available if you’re looking for the best summer tire in our size.

Can you tell the foam filled tires by looking at the sidewall? I'm fairly certain I've got a 2018 white needle without the foam filled tires. (But I digress).

I drive pretty hard (I keep trying to figure out at what point the tires will actually squeal and when the over steer or under steer will happen) and love to feel the vectoring in the AWD system. I haven't had any complaints but I'm only a bit over 5000 miles on my TourX.

Best to me has the best combo of ride, handling, snow traction, value, and are still all-season. Yes we get snow in my part of NM and yes my contract says I've got to be there no matter what but I'm not storing tires for 9 months of the year.

Unless Conti mislabeled tires, the foam ones should say Contisilent on sidewall.

Then I've got the non-foam filled tires. FYI whenever I try to search for Contisilent tires I get directed to Continentals European website.

The logo is pretty small and easy to miss if your thinking they're proud of them.

Even though I don't own a Regal, I replaced the OEM Continentals on my Verano in late July with General Altimax RT43s. I'd reached the 40K mile mark and the Continentals were four years old and at the end of their lives.

The Generals are a vast improvement (ironically, Continental owns General now) and came with 65K treadwear. They are much quieter and the car now handles better in the rain. Jury is still out on snow prowess as we don't typically get any here until at least November.

2/18 build date and my tires have no indication on the sidewall that they are conti-silent... But they are.

I think only the real early builds may not have had the tire foam.

255 45 ZR 18 General G-max AS-05 ultra high performance all seasons
Tire rack has rated highest in would you recommend, and cheaper then most higher rated tires.
What really makes them better is they are plus size... much wider with no clearance or speedo issues.

LJ brings up a good point.

Most of us don't want any taller tires really. Will a 255 45 18 still fit the stock rim? Is the tire the same overall diameter?

Fits stock rims perfectly, and diameter is so close....at 130 mph indicated, your really going 129 mph.

I want to reduce the profile a little, So I think I'm going to go with 245/45R18. I think it will look better especially combined with a mild suspension lowering.

BTW my favorite tires in my more recent purchase history have had high silica compound. I'm usually trying to find the gems that are 1/2 or 1/3 cheaper than the regular price of tires like Michelin.

Fortunately I've got a local independent tire dealer that is more than happy to order any tire carried by the several brands they represent.
