What's the story behind your LeSabre

My 2000 Buick Lesabre was a gift to me in 2005 from my daughters ex-boyfriend, he bought it at a used car dealership and it had only one previous owner. This has been the best car I have ever had, it has been through three kids and has really been put through the test believe when I say that. She now has 245,000 miles :headbang: on her and still running great. She looks a little bit rough just a couple dents, the inside well that has been through my three kids and two grandkids, you know how that goes...lol. The top fabric fell down and came off one year ago, the cup holder in front got brought two years after I had it, my now husband got mad at the drivers visor cause it kept fall down so he snatched it off, so now i have no visor, otherwise she is a great car...😉 my car. If and when I need to get another car I want another Buick Lesabre around the 2000 year. :icon: Mechanically the 3800 motor is a real sound motor we do keep the oil changed as support to. Lets just simply say...I love my Buick.:headbang:

The Limited is back on the road for winter.
Painted the calipers black.
Put on another coat of wax.
Put in a can of freon because the AC stopped working. It's still OK after two weeks, which surprised me. Usually when the AC stops, it's a leak.

I found on my last lesabre that the ac WILL NOT kick in below 40 f exterior temperature. You're gonna have a fun time with the interior windows fogging if you aren't familiar with that already 😉

Also, they seem to get low after a few years and simply topping them up helps. I would recommend adding some dye and do a quick check for leaks. I did it in my lesabre and would've done it in my volvo but it comes factory with uv dye.

Have not had mine long. 60 days It's a 2002 Custom. Adult driven 1 owner with a lot of options. It's my commuter car so far I have replaced LIM UIM gaskets tune up got some corrosion on the brake lines at the ABS motor. tubing and fittings are on order Had I known about these car's economy and superior ride I never would have fooled around with Hondas and Acuras.

I got a new job in July and it requires me to travel around Texas. The vehicle I was using was a truck that got about 13 MPG so in August I started looking for new vehicle. I had bought two of my children a ford Taurus and had maintained them myself for over 4 years. Since I already knew the ins and outs of Taurus maintenance I thought I’d get one for myself. I found a 2001 with 23,000 miles on it and bought it expecting to drive it for 1-2 years and then turn it over to my oldest daughter, whose van was getting up there. One week after I got the Taurus she totaled her van. I think you know how this ends.

I’m back to driving the truck again and looking for another vehicle. I wanted something that was more comfortable than the Taurus and I started thinking – old person car with low mileage. I had owned a 1985 Lesabre and the first time I looked on Craig’s list I saw a 2003 with 21,500 miles on it. It was owned by a retired woman who had purchased it new. She was disabled, lost her license about a year ago and didn’t have much option but to sell her Lesabre.

The car had been garage kept its entire life and was immaculate. Not even a parking lot ding. Since getting it I’ve put new tires on (they were original), flushed the radiator and changed the throttle body to intake gasket (it had a slow seep). I’ve put about 2000 miles on it without a hiccup. I love this car.

I was starting a new job in 2005 when my beater died, and my family needed a "new car." These were desperate times! Scanning the newspaper, I saw an ad for a 1995 Le Sabre limited, 27,000 miles, 4500 bucks. This had to be a typo right? Ten years old, 27000 miles?

Nope. It was owned by an elderly lady who had been ill. It was garaged for years. Her brother was selling it for the estate. It looked brand new, except on part of it someone had unfortunately someone had scuffed it slightly using rubbing compound instead of wax. Other than that, it was cherrie.

Still driving it in 2013, 105,000 miles now. I LOVE it. It is starting to need lots of little things, but still! LOVE MY BUICK. Probably give it to my kid eventually for his first car.🙂

I just bought my 04 lesabre two weeks ago.It has 77k mi, and the dealer put new tires, plugs and wires, tranny fluid and filter, pcv ,fuel filter ,brakes, coolant,in it.Paid $6k, one owner car.Everything is good, but I think the car sat for a while. When I popped the hood there were alot of leaves, and the aluminum tranny housing and alternater housing are oxydised.Runs great tho,and is a big step up from my 88 century.I'm enjoying driving alot, and am hoping for a stretch of no problems

saw it on craigslist for cheap. the previous owner knew it had an electrical problem and didn't want to deal with it. I really didn't need another car but for the $ it's cheaper than running my truck
