Cloyes Gear and Products seems to be the only aftermarket engine timing products manufacturer that I can find.
They also seem to have made “improvements” over stock components. However, looking through their catalog revealed that they currently only have kits for 2.4 ecotec despite what their YouTube channel suggests.
The two pics at the bottom show the main timing kit and the balance shaft kit respectively. Here’s the link to their install video which is super comprehensive if anyone is interested:
I believe the 2.4 kit uses a new and improved crank gear which is only for NA motors.
The version of this gear for forced induction is a much beefier one that is a stand alone part for 2.0 turbo and either has to be re-used or separately sourced even if the rest of the kit is otherwise compatible.
So do you guys know any place to get these parts WITH the improved high strength guide bolts that seem to be prone to failure in stock guise?
Also, since this job exposes the water pump in the process I would appreciate a good part# for that as well so I can hit 2 birds...
Hope one of you guys has some info. Thanks
