I am the proud new owner of a 2016 Buick Regal GS AWD and ever since I got it I have been searching for a cold air intake that would fit my car. I found a K&N filter that says it fits all models of the 2016 Opel Insignia A 2.0L I4, which to my knowledge shares the same platform as my 2.0T Regal. I wanted to know if said K&N filter would in fact fit in my car or if there are better options out there that I am not aware of. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!!!

Just as a little exercise in what you're looking for, pop your hood, pull the air filter, and look into the air box. Where does the air come from? If it's coming from outside the engine bay, then you already have a CAI. From the factory!

If you intend to spend the money on an oiled air filter, one which allows larger dirt particles through so it can also claim "better air flow", then you're putting your engine at risk of being sanded to death from the inside as those "little" particles get in there and grind themselves into dust between the pistons and the walls of your cylinders.

If you actually needed more air flow, it would be because you're operating the engine at such high RPMs that it's gobbling copious amounts of air. If that's the case, you're gonna grenade your engine before too long.

If what you want is more performance, call TriFecta and have them get you a tune. They can work wonders!

I personally would not use anything but an AC delco stock air filter.

I wouldn't use a K&N because for a couple of inches improvement on a CLEAN filter, you get more dirt in the engine, and a very low dust carrying capacity before it is more restrictive than an AC delco. Also everything that DrivenDaily said! A "cold air" intake is usually just pulling air from the engine bay which is behind the radiator! And on top of all that, you have an intercooler.

If you are still in the market for a cold air, look at ZZP. From all 7 of the reviews not a single one is negative. I myself am looking into getting one for my 16 Regal Premium (LTG). My recomendation is that you look up your car and check if it does have the same LTG as there are different platforms as in 2.0 turbo and 2.4 non turbo. I have wasted about $500 on parts that were for the ecotec generation before the ltg.
