Which a/c actuator?

I can tell you right now your car isnt going to like that and your temp variation is now because of the fact you have a missing actuator

Put a working actuator in, calibrate them (I think I posted how above earlier in the topic) , and then at that point check for codes and see what the behavior is.
You've been very generous with your time responding so I am not criticizing you, but the drivers blend actuator cannot be the main problem. The little plastic gears are not gonna be able to turn that door any farther than i can with my fingers (still getting warmish air). Something else is amiss.

I do not have knowledge of the internals on these things. Maybe there is a bad seal on the door. Maybe there's a hole in it. Maybe there is something blocking it from shutting all the way. Maybe outside air is getting in somehow.

It makes no sense to replace the actuator until i can figure out what is the primary issue.

Also, maybe i am ignorant of something, but i do not understand what my car "wouldn't like" about manually adjusting the blend doors to full a/c and then simply controlling the system manually with the on/off button and the fan button. I don't need automatic climate control.

When the system is low on Freon, one of the symptoms will be passenger side colder than the driver's side. Could be that simple.

I'Ve considered double checking that, but would that have any affect on getting cool air out the drivers side (during cold weather) when the heat is on?

Don't know, but if you have ruled out the actuators as the problem, I'd double check the Freon level. A/C is more important than heat in Florida, especially with warmer weather coming, just sayin🙂

Yes i don't need the heat at all. But i just feel like hot air during hot weather and cold air during cold weather, is a signal that outside air is getting in. This is why i'm wondering about the "air vent actuator", but unlike the other ones, there is almost no info about it online.

I tell owners ALL the time, that if they intend to keep and work on these cars, they need to invest in the Factory Service Manual. It is worth every penny, and it will have trouble shooting methods to narrow down any problem you have with the car. It will save you countless hours of frustration and money spent.

Don't discount the possibility you may have 2 separate problems even though they may seem to be related.

Oh yeah i know all about the two seperate problem synthesis. That's usually how these mysterious issues come together.

Im telling you that you not having the actuator in the car operating as normal WILL NOT let the system work as intended, it knows EXACTLY where the actuator should be by its own command and if its not where they should be, its likely operating in a failsafe mode of sorts. AKA, you WILL NOT Find the "cause" the issue until you return your automatic Cj2 system to the way it was DESIGNED.

I know this an old post but did you figure out what the issue was with the driver side air temp?

Ok, so I have to confirm this to be correct. In battling the same issue as the Original poster I serviced the AC system and boom it produced cold air out of both driver side and passenger side. As far as the blend door positions, I made sure each one was open or closed with the setting selected by removing the actuator and manually positioning the doors.
It sounds like the OP has an air inlet door issue that maybe open all the time to vent and the system is low on Freon ? Hence poor cooling during summer and cold air during winter months? Heating is another topic since he doesn’t use it?
