Hi, I'm new here. Just inherited a 1998 Buick Regal from my gramma. I'm having a pretty annoying problem with it currently... Maybe you guys can help?

So, the other night, my fiance and I are driving home. He thought it would be hilarious to fart the stinkiest fart ever and roll the window up every time I rolled it down. So I locked the passenger windows so only I could control them.

Well, turned the window lock off... and now none of the buttons on the passenger doors will roll the windows up or down. I can control them all just fine from the driver's door.

The window lock is stuck ON apparently.

Is the window lock on a separate fuse? How can this be fixed? It's REALLY annoying to have to roll the passenger window down every time my fiance wants to smoke a cigarette.

HELP! Please!

Do the back door windows operate normally?

Will the passenger door switch move the window up?

If both these are yes I would suspect the passenger door window switch. If the back door switches operate the windows I'd still suspect the passenger switch. Because you can operate the window from the master control you know the basic window functions are working. The switch is not difficult to change and not expensive from a pick a part.

The back doors' window switches will not roll the windows down either, but I can roll them down from the driver's door.

Then I'm thinking the problem is the master lock out switch. Problem is the all four window switches and the master are one assembly. I imagine it's a pricey item from Buick. You might want to see what you can find at a pick a part. I got one for my 97 for $15 or 20 if I recall correctly. That's in southern California. A regular junk yard usually wants about 40-50% of the new price so if you can find one to pull yourself it would be much cheaper.

good luck finding one, i just had to replace my switch too. that has to be the crappiest part on the whole car every century or regal needs it replaced at some point. you cant take the switch apart either, its all melted together. i ended up having to go to auto zone because no junkyard within 2 states of indiana had one. luckily its a normally stocked part at auto zone. its 89.99

I have the same problem on my Regal 1999...I had changed twice the hole switch with ones from scrap yards but still do the same...How Did you solve you the problem finally???
