I'm currently car shopping. My last car was totaled a few days back and the 2012 Regal GS 6MT is high on my shopping list. One of the things I'm researching prior to buying is the winter wheel tire situation so I can decide if I should buy a GS with the 20" wheels / tires or not.
I see TireRack doesn't show any winter tire / wheel packages for the GS yet. However, I saw in a different thread on the forum that the front Brembo's on the GS are the same as the ones used on the Pontiac G8 GXP. I did some Googling and they do seem to be the same. They have the same specs for size and the calipers look visually identical except for the name painted on them. The G8 GXP has the same 5x120 stud spacing as the GS. Per this G8 centric thread Discount Tire confirms some 18" wheels that will clear the Brembos on the GXP. TireRack also lists some 18" wheels will clear the Bremobs on the G8 GXP. So, it looks like the right 18" wheels + 245/40/18 winter tires will be okay.
What are you all doing for winter tires / wheels?
