I'm looking for OE/Aftermarket pads for the GS.

I can't find any info and nearly $400 for the fronts at the dealer.

It's a standard Brembo caliper but I can't find the proper pad size.

This is the setup that I am going to be ordering:

Do you know if the powerstop pads will have less dust? That would be my main goal- to not have to wash the wheels once a week, but I know to keep the top performance those will be the more dusty pads.

It would be nice if Hawk or EBC came out with some pads for the GS..

Factory O.E. pad part number is 13329562. retail cost=$346.40
replacement pad pard #22866931. cost was 129.00-ish.

clearly the factory pads were a performance racing pad. i think the service advisor read the bulletin wrong.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Some customers may comment on a squeal or squeak noise on brake apply. Excessive brake dust on the wheels may also be noted.

The Regal GS uses special high performance brake linings that are more prone to brake squeal and accumulation of brake dust on the wheels.

Recommendation/Instructions

Dealers can replace the brake linings with the part number below.

Important: Inform the customer that the Regal GS OE pads are designed for track performance use and are required for high energy braking. The original brake linings must be put back on if the vehicle is to be driven on a track.

thats the bulletin from GM. so essentially we have down graded our brake pads. dont get me wrong im ok with that.

This is what I did. They stop just fine and best of all, very little brake dust.

I did that too. If you want to replace your front pads because of dust or noise, tell your dealer service advisor about the noise and they should be able to replace your pads at no cost under the service bulletin.

I've never replaced the brakes in the GS, so I have no idea of how much dust PS pads have.

Thanks.

I'm not a big fan of ceramic pads but I'm going to give them a try. It's winter in Michigan and the GS was so quiet that I never heard the brakes with the windows up. We're on vacation down south and as soon as I opened the windows I can hear the brakes.

Gotta find a local place that can put those ones from Autozone on before I ruin the rotors.

The noise your hearing will not ruin the rotors unless obviously its becoming metal to metal. If your miles are low enough you can get the pads i posted above for free under warranty to address the squeal and brake dust. I have had zero issues since putting these pads on. It was so much the squeal that bothered me as it was the brake dust. Living in pittsburgh with all the mountains and hills i would have brake dust in 2 days of driving.

The Autozone pads that were posted are not the correct ones.

I went ahead and found a local place when we were travelling to put on a set of the Autozone pads since they were in stock.

They are not the correct pads. Their listing, and as far as the auto place could tell, every single listing for the GS is incorrect. He pulled out a set of pads he had in stock that say they were for a GS and also compared them to the Autozone pads, not the right ones.

I believe they are for a Regal Turbo, not the GS.

Finally found 1 supplier that had them, different part number and everything from what was listed.

I was down to almost the metal on the inner pad. The pads he put on were some kind of cheap Bendix, braking sucks compared to the OEM pad but I would have been metal to metal by the time we got home. We just started a 2 week vacation.

I'll buy the GM OE pads, I like the feel and stopping power. The car wash we goto in town uses some type of wheel cleaner that stops the dust from sticking. I'll go a good week to week and a half before I see build up. I take the car anywhere else and its a day or two.

I drive the car pretty aggressively though, took me 15.5K miles to go through an entire set of fronts.

Those must be some pretty soft rotors though, I had quite an uneven surface. i'll probably pick up replacement rotors, they are not that much more than having these turned.

Google "rounder's" part number to find out what style Brembo pad it is. There are quite a few to choose from but most are performance(ie: dust) style pads as these are performance calipers.

If someone wants to get Hawk involved send your old worn out barake pad backing plate to them and they make a compound for you.

I looking for new front brake pads for the GS-brembos . I was looking at the powerstop z 16 ceremic or z26 extreme. I also found the Centric posi-quiet ceramic or Centric stoptech. I'm kind of leaning towrds the stoptechs. Anyone tried any of these pads? Rockauto lists them for brembos, so I'm assuming they WILL fit, but I've noticed a lot of sites listing the same pads for the GS as the CXL. Help me. Who's changed their brakes?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but figured this may help someone else. If you are looking for the Duramax Gold Cmax, Autozone lists them for the GS as part number DGC924. This is the incorrect pad. The correct one is the one LouB2B lists...the DGC1001 for the Pontiac G8 GXP. I just put them on my GS '12 and they fit and work very well. Good buy for $49. Been out testing them and no complaints.

I hope this helps before someone wastes time trying the ones that Autozone lists for our rides. Good luck.

Autozone Duralast Gold Cmax Ceramic. Have them on my Pontiac G8 GXP on the front Brembo's and they work great. Quiet, excellent gripping power and negligable brake dust.
