Navigation SD card not recognize

I have 2012 GS My navigation was working fine until a week ago, It read the SD card and then it give me the message SD card not inserted. The usb port only has power but does not work to for my ipod or memory as before. Check the usb a works fine in the computer.

Took the car to the dealer. It seen they have no idea what is going on. They have order a new card. Does anyone have this same issue

I have 2012 GS, The navigation was working fine until last week everytine I try using it is give me "SD card not inserted" I clean the SD card, re-inserted. Nothing work. Took it to the the dealer, it seem they have no idea what to do. They are ordering a new card, but I dont think is the card because the USD port doen't work either.

anyone with same issue?
 
Happened to me a few months ago. Called onstar and after running diagnostics, they created a support incident for me to bring the GS into the dealer. Before I had a chance to make an appointment, I got a call from the Buick infotainment support group. I followed the procedure that the tech gave me to clear the problem but didn't write it down. It did work. Here's the best I remember:

-With the vehicle running, turn off the infotainment (radio)
-Eject the Navi SDCard
-Turn off the vehicle
-Open the driver door and turn on the vehicle
-Keep the driver door open for 10 minutes then close the door
-Insert the Navi SDCard
-Turn on the infotainment
-Try your Navigation

It was a little like Black Magic and I was waiting for her to have me stand on my head. Fortunately that didn't happen.

It worked for me and if it doesn't for you, you may want to change the later steps and try again. I'm recording these steps from memory.
 
Sorry. If I find the info regarding the support person I talked to or phone number, I'll post it. The process wasn't necessarily a fix to the sd problem, but a general reboot of the infotainment system. She offered the information as a possible fix. In my case, it did correct the problem.
 
I was able to locate the number for GM support that I used when I was having an issue with the SDCard. 866-790-5600 - Ask for Infotainment Support. I talked to Robert today to refresh my memory on the soft reset that I used to correct the problem. That would be as follows:

-With the vehicle running, turn off the infotainment (radio)
-Eject the Navi SDCard
-Turn off the vehicle
-Open the driver door and leave it open for 2 minutes
-Close the driver door
-Start your vehicle
-Turn on the infotainment
-Insert the Navi SDCard
-Try your Navigation

Hope this helps. If it doesn't, I would call their infotainment support group.
 
@LouB2B, is that a soft reset for the whole system, or just Nav? I am having problems with my infotainment unit as a whole (Nav is working fine, though), and am wondering if this will alleviate some problems I am having. I am currently scheduled to go into the dealer soon to hopefully fix these problems.

Yes it is a soft reset for the whole infotainment system. Worth a try to see if it corrects your problems. The GM infotainment support person did say that even if the reset corrects the problems your having, it would be good to call the dealer service and have them record the problem in your vehicle service log to build a history.
 
started having this issue in my 2012 regal GS. sometimes ejecting and reinstalling the card fixes the problem, other times it simply won't work until the next setup. isn't there some update available from the dealer for the harmon kardon systems with nav?

YES! But it's happening to us (one-family owner) now, 10 years after your experience!
