maybe if you had a decent resolution on that picture we could help you out...

FYI.... If you're having trouble finding the programming harness on a 94-96 RMW, I finally found mine inside the actual pillar molding, just inside the glass hatch... I didn't even have to take the molding off... Just pulled the harness out...

This could be useful, But I have a '93. and I don't know where I can get a new remote. Anybody have any sugguestions where to look? 🙂

eBay has lots of them. New, used and aftermarket. Just make sure you get one with the same numbers on the back -- I have a pair around here that were advertised for the RM, but certainly aren't for mine.

Hello!

My remote quit working some time ago in my 1996 rms. i tried replacing the remotes battery, but no help. The green led in the remote works and is bright, remote seems to be working. I tried reprogramming the remote, but the car doesn't react to the connector in the trunk when i connect the two pins. The locs don't click, nothing happens. I programmed the remote some years ago and it worked normally until this.

where is the reciever located for the keyless entry? I could look for some wiring problems, maybe there is +12v or ground missing, but I need to find the reciever first.

Any other ideas what to do to find the problem?

Thanks
Tommi

If you have a green led on your remote, it is not a GM factory system. Since you have an aftermarket keyless entry system, you will have more of a challenge sleuthing out where the receiver is located.

Hello,

actually it is factory system, it has the keyless entry RPO code in the trunk. Only the remote was missing when i bought the car. I bought KeylessRide remote and programmed it with the instructions from this forum and it worked for years. So the searching for the reciever continues...

Hello, Does anyone know if there is a way to make the headlights flash or the horn sound when locking the door with the remote?

Thank you,
Scar

Hi all,

Figured I'd add my problem to this existing thread, to help add to the topic, since I haven't found my answers yet.

I have a '95 wagon for which I can't get the keyless to work.

The car came with two remotes that do not match each other- models ABO 0104T and ABO 0116T. Neither work, and they haven't worked from time of purchase.

I'm able to short the system using a screwdriver into the open ended cable in the back left pillar, however while shorted I cannot get any buttons on either remote to work the locks. I bought a new set of batteries, and tried the batteries in both remotes. I've tried this process with each remote separately, as I'm not sure which one will end up working.

Is 0104T the correct remote for my car? Or is there something on the actual car that dictates which remote model to use?

Can anyone recommend what I do to troubleshoot next? If I can short the system, does that mean that the keyless entry module is working properly? Does this sound like just a bad remote?

Thanks,
Mike

I'm also having trouble programming my 1991 Roadmaster wagon. The car has 50,000 original miles and I found the key fob in the glove box, unopened, and still in it's original packaging (perfect condition inside and out). I replaced the batteries because I figured the ones from 1991 were long since dead. I found the lead wire on the RIGHT side compartment where the spare tire is (1991 only), above the taillight (I checked the left side first and found nothing in the D pillar or behind the lockable storage compartment). It is a single wire connector. I connected alligator clips to the connector pin and grounded it to a piece of metal on the side of the car. It went through the lock cycle as it should, but nothing happened with the remote when I pushed a button. I tried several times, pushing different buttons, but nothing. I tried disconnecting the battery of the car for 30 seconds and starting over, but nothing.

I did get the lock and unlock buttons to work (not the rear window button) on the fob only when I had the key turned to the 'on' position, but it stopped working immediately after turning the key off (it also never confirmed the programming by going through the lock cycle after pushing a button, the lock & unlock just started working shortly after pressing the button... with the key in the on position). Seems like the TRW system is clearing correctly. The key fob can work at times, but why can I not get it to program correctly? Please help!

Here's what I did:
- clipped the pin on the wire
- clipped other end to ground (lock cycle performed by car)
- pressed a button
- No lock cycle response from key fob
- unclipped wire
- not programmed

I do not have the Factory AU0 option...but i do have 2 used Remotes, and the FSM makes it sound like all 96 Wagons had Remote Keyless Entry, but I can't find the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver or Programming Connector, so I must have another Harness. Is it possible to add a RCDLR, or is that a Pita ?
