How much power can a stock regal hold

Looks awesome, except for the total lack of traction.

Common Kranz, be the first to do an AWD upgrade to a manual trans GS so you can put that power to the ground at less than tripple digit speeds. The AWD version of this trans has always been available in Europe, and now that they do offer AWD in the states (albeit auto trans only), the rest of the necessary pieces should be finding their way into local bone yards everywhere.

I would rather see someone throw a yank stall and build the auto awd trans. I can't imagine it being more than 4k to do and it would put some serious butthurt on people.

Arent u sick of putting all this money into the car? Did u ever think youd have to deal with all of this Shit lol

I think ill ride out this summer in my GS and next year ill go for a B7 audi S4

I beat an Audi A4 and more than one Acura. If I had an Acura and I beat a Buick, doubt I would have the same cheesy grin.

I never get any good races with any of those cars but I have a video of me whooping a bolt on Evo and sti

post that video!

im not trying to sound young and immature but sometimes i purposely drive on the highway hoping for a race lmao

I did race a 750 bmw once 2013? he whooped me with that twin turbo v8 but i was still on my OEM turbo

yo kranz you know this turbo better than anyone.. you think our turbo could run with that bmw now? mildly modded

I'm still almost pure stock. I have a K&N and that's it so far. I am coming up on my 1yr anniversary with the car and I have been following and reading some threads on here. I have seen the post on getting more power but how are you all stopping it? I did an upgrade to my front rotors [slotted and dimpled] (rear are still stock)

Excuse the dirt, I have not had a chance to really clean the car and polish the wheels.

I'm liking dem rotors, very cool!

But... my own two cents is unless you upgrade the Brembos to BIGGER, BADDER four or six piston calipers like
a GT3 or something for more force, the solid stock rotors/pads are awesome binders. With street driving, they have time too cool down vs. on a track. The slots, dimples and holes let hot gasses escape from under the pads to prevent reduced friction plus better cooling from repeatedly standing on them. The real track rats can confirm or deny...
I think braking force is designed to be 10 or more times engine HP (probably net at the wheels). No idea what are stock are rated for though.
That said I'm already shopping for something similar for when these OEM rotors are shot.

PS anyone else ever had or seen those Black Diamond rotors??

When I brought my car to the local road course last summer (doing it again this summer, May 22nd), I did three 20-minute sessions of nothing but accelerating from 40-95mph at WOT, and then standing on the brakes (full-on ABS stops) back down to 40. I never had any pad-related fade (the sort of out-gassing that slots/holes are intended to prevent). I had on the original '12 MY GS 'race' pads, which I only put in for this event and then took right back out again to use next time I go to the track.

I did boil the brake fluid right at the end of one of the runs, but I chock that up to 2-year old fluid of unknown quality and water content. This year, brand new DOT 4 will go in the week before the event, and I don't expect to have any brake problems.

I really don't know how I could be any harder on my brakes than a track event like this. I'm curious, were you experiencing pad-related brake fade before you did the upgrade? If yes, may I ask under what conditions?

I did the same brake upgrade on my GTP when I had it and went with the same company for the GS (EBC).
You mention upgrading the calipers - are these a 2 piston or more? I'm assuming GM went with a 2 piston. I would expect a high end GM (Vet) to get 4 or more pistons but we are talking GM. At one time I was looking and considering Baer Brakes for my GTP but that would have been $5k+ and I was not pushing that much horsepower.(never had it dyno)
Maybe I will get some braided brake lines in the future.

On a side note, are there any stylish rear spoilers out there that will help keep the rear end planted? A few weeks ago I was driving very Formula 1 and noticed that the rear end wants to come loose during turns and braking. (since I got the car used, I think the former owner or dealer put cheap tires on it as they have no wet road or lateral grip but I was not on a wet road.) Anyway, when the time comes I'll try new tires and I will keep an eye out for that spoiler. It has to be stylish! This is a Buick not a Civic and I am not going to the airport to fly.

No brake fade, just age and needed new pads for inspection. OEM Rotors could be turned but I will save that for if I need to go back to OEM (I still have the OEM rotors)

Besides, there is the "Cool factor" I need a set for the rear and I will be good! 😎 But that is an upgrade for another time.

Just made an appointment the first week of June with zzp. We ironed out some kinks in my tune the other day. Valve cover breather and no more boost creep.
Let's take some bets. Putting a 5th injector and 7163, was at 447... trying to take it to 500. Corrected should be 480s. Going to keep this thread going.

Man I can't wait to hear how it drives / see some vids. That 7163 sounds awesome from what I've gathered from my research. Some people have reported it spooling faster than the 6758 and offering more top end power. One of these days I'll upgrade the turbo and your experience kranz will probably direct me to which turbo will be best for my regal. Right now, 7163 seems pretty damn right.

I have 100 dollars and a free tow for a engine blowup lmao

That's a good bet right there. Let's see what the beast can do, kranz. I bet your gonna freakin love that 7163.

First off, let's be clear that the ONLY reason the stock motor blew was because the rods just could not take 420whp.... probably close to 500 crank. 7500rpm shifts and back to back pulls it let go. The block should easily hold 600 and so far mid 4's doesn't seem to phase it.

I counter you with you calling off work and going to the show... (if it doesn't grenade on the dyno) haha.
I emailed Kyle @zzp to see if I could get in prior to the buick car show, well see what he says.

My dash cam is going in your car when you run the 1/4. It needs to be plugged into one of your cigarette lighter holes, so you need to unplug the 12 volt crock-pot or hot dog toaster or whatever crazy appliance you keep plugged in on the daily.

Mayor, real talk......... What is it going take?
