Lacrosse Touring package rear shocks discontinued. Anyone know of any sources?

I am so glad that you found something that works. Hopefully it works anyway lol. Does it seem to ride correctly? How did you arrive at those part numbers? I called AC Delco and the rep here tried extremely hard to find something that it would cross over to. He even let me go so that he could call some regional rep or guy at AC Delco in MI and was told the same thing, that there was nothing to cross over to.

Just to confirm, you have the touring package, 19" factory wheels, H-arm rear end and the electronic shocks? Thanks again for the detailed write up also.

i have all of the same specs as your car. H-arm, 19” wheels with Touring package and the driver rear was the electronic shock absorber that went bad for me. I got tired of the dealers and AcDelco giving me the run around so i took matters into my own hands. If you take off the wheel, you will be able to see the shock absorber and on the shock absorber is a part number that is different than the assembly number you were given from the dealer. Since the shock absorber is the only thing that is bad, you can take apart the shock absorber assembly to replace just the shock absorber itself. Follow the replacement just for the shock absorber since this is the piece that gets plugged into the car’s electronics. This is process and thought pattern used to replace mine. I dont get the service suspension light anymore and it drives like new. I bought the other side off ebay just in case the right rear goes bad just so i dont have to go through finding the replacement again.

Wow! You are a lifesaver!! Thanks so much. I had not thought about actually looking for a number on the shock itself. Thank you so much, I will definitely have a look at mine. So that 20901064 and 20901065 numbers were the actual numbers that you found on the shock? Man, I am SO grateful to you, you're awesome for replying with this info, I can't thank you enough. I need to get new dust boots/covers also for the shocks because mine are shot, did your new shocks come with the dust covers? Thanks again!

I used gmpartsgiant.com and punched in the part number that was on the shock absorber to find the replacement part number since the part number found on the shock absorber was discontinued and all of the components are able to be purchased from this dealer as well. Sometimes you can get lucky and find the oem parts on rockauto.com which is preferred because they have better customer service if you order the wrong thing and they do a better job packing the package with protection to prevent damage.

I can't tell you how grateful I am to you, you have no idea. Thanks so much! It just never occurred to me in all of this time to pull the wheel and look at the shock. I just trusted what the dealers were saying based off of the VIN. I talked to the dealership in Houston a few minutes ago just to double check and he says that there is still no news on when they will go back into production. I gave him your part numbers and he found some in some other dealerships. But they were 326 and 352. I'm sure that I can find them cheaper than that online hopefully. I don't know if that price was far just the strut/shock or the whole assembly/kit with the mount and dustcover. I will probably go the route of the entire assembly if I can find a decent price, my dust covers are detached and pretty beat up, leaving the shaft exposed, which is probably why these failed in the first place.

So it was not a big job to change them? I had a Riviera where they were accessed through the trunk.

I had seen some things that were close on Rockauto but the codes were off etc.

I found one online a little while ago and everything matches up except they have the GNB code instead of GNA, which is what I have, or vice versa, I can't remember at the moment. But that code applies to the front struts apparently, but it is listed as a compatibility code with the rear shocks? Maybe it is about the stiffness or damping etc to be matched?? I don't know what the difference is between GNB and GNA?

I don't care if the ride is stiff or softer, as long as the size and geometry are correct and the electronic sensor doesn't throw a code.

Thanks again! Hopefully I will have a minute to pull the wheel tonight or tomorrow morning and confirm the part number.

SHOCKER BUICK CXS
Buick 2011 Lacrosse CXS Needs front performance Struts.
It is amazing to still be experiencing this same lack of replacement front struts for 2011 Buick Lacrosse cxs in 2023. I'm being told by all professional sources including GM that these so called front performance Struts are no longer manufactured. In addition there hasn't ever been any compatible struts in production or exchangeable numbers available . If you can help please share. I desperately need front (performance) struts for this car. ViN # 1G4GED3BF245427 I'm told that this problem is limited to cars built during short a period of changeover involving some 2010-2011 models Lacrosse and Cadillacs.

Maybe you can find someone to refurbish the old struts.

There is even a shop in Barcelona that will refurbish Magneride struts (Tecnoshock)

Thank you however the driver side strut is so damaged that it can't be refurbished. Do you know the name of the shop in Barcelona or the address?

There must be shops in the US that do the same.

Tecnoshock rebuilds magneride shocks too; not sure who else does that.

I just read this thread with great interest because
I have a 2010 CXS albeit w/o magnaride. I just checked Rock Auto and they seem to have quite a few if not all of the “real time dampening” options in stock for both 2010 and 2011, shocks and struts.

I would check into the latest on superseded and superseding p/n’s before I bothered looking though.
