Has anyone replace their Tourx wheels?

Hi all,

I just got my new wheels and tires installed. I went a smidge more aggressive than I felt comfortable with, but it worked. I have 20x8.5, with a 25 offset. I was going to try a 245/35 or 235/40 tire, but they were all under the load rating for the car. So I went with 245/40 and crossed my fingers. I’m happy to report that I don’t get any rubbing at full lock, and so far I haven’t hit any bump big enough to make it rub anywhere. I hope this helps those who are pondering how aggressive you can get with the offset. Of course this is on OEM suspension, I’ve got no idea what would happen if I lowered it. 74305B97-B41C-4B80-9D29-99B645CDABB2.webp

Can you take a picture of this looking down the side of the vehicle? Your sizing is pretty close to a lot of Mopar wheels, the last set I was looking at was 9" wide with a 20 offset. So the rim would be inboard an extra 1.4mm which shouldn't be a problem but it will stick out 11.4mm more than yours. Would be nice to know what that extra 1/2" would look like. But hearing this makes me want to get some pricing on machining the face of the wheel down a bit. We have a shop at work but it might be better to have a wheel shop tackle it. The only thing left to figure out would be the studs.

Seems you are at the absolute max regarding stuffing a tire on the TourX. Brand & type of wheels & tires please?

The wheels are KMC Flux 20x8.5, 5x115, with a 25mm offset. The tires are Continental DWS 06 in 245/40//20. I would be little surprised if much wider wheels would work, but with a stretched tire it’s certainly possible. I know someone else has 20x9 with a similar offset, but the tire is relatively narrow. Personally I prefer a beefier tire with the look of the TourX, given the matte finished cladding and all.

Also for some reason every portrait photo wants to be sideways. Shrug. 82C5E077-BE6B-448E-BF76-15E5D9FB0D0D.jpeg

Doesn't look like you can go much further out... so if I were to look at Mopar wheels I would have to machine off 5mm. But that does look good.

My snow tires are about 3/16" smaller in overall diameter than yours in size 245/50-18 and i think they look good.20191110_111709 (1280x960).webp

What do you think is the largest diameter/circumference tire possible that can properly fit on the TourX without rubbing at lock?
27.75" for a 245 mm tire

It’s hard to say. What are you trying to accomplish? That might help people come up with an answer.

I am currently running a stock setup but I want to know what is the tallest tire I can run on a OEM wheel without any rubbing? I know width is limited to 245, and yes I have seen LJ run 255. I am trying to raise the ride height just enough so I do not continue to rub my hitch.

245/50-18 raises the height 0.2"., i.e very little. I would not mind if the TourX had another 1/2" of ride height or had air shocks available as a aftermarket item.

It might help to stick with something narrower? Also maybe someone make a coil over kit that could be used to raise it? It would really depend on the kit. My old car I could lower 3” but raise 1” from stock.

That is supa bad!

Finally got the Envisio Forged 20s that I ordered a while back. The 9.0s on the front have 255/35/20 on them and the 10" rears have 275/35/20.

They fill the guards up really well, speedo still reads about 2klms an hour (1 mph) more than the real speed. (I still think it needs to be lowered about an inch front and back...)

What’s the offset? I’m surprised they don’t stick out further than they do. Any rubbing? Looks amazing!
