TourX Roof Rack

Sheets of what?
1” foam board. We’re going to need some plywood next. Maybe 3-4 sheets of 1/2” per run. We’re pecking away on an old house reno. We’re only about 1-2 miles from various stores.

Let us know how the plywood works out. I have some projects planned

Four sheets of 1/2” plywood and four rolls of insulation. Cross-town, no highway speeds. I think these racks are advertised to handle 160 lbs. Quite easy to load; the beauty of a wagon. (insert preacher / choir emoji here). I especially like parking under cover next to the 5 pickups at the Home Depot contractor department.

My last car was an XC70 and I had Thule Aeroblades with two bike carriers. I am very happy to be able to use that same setup on my Tourx. Thanks to the people on here that did the research. The 460r podium and kit 4012 worked great with the Aeroblades.

Forgot to mention that the crossbars Crispy purchased (and suggested) worked very well for me as well. Easy on, easy off; I’ve got a Thule box mounted for the odd trip, but works like a dream. Not much in the way of wind noise either, but I do see a 2MPG drop at 60mph....

What level of tint do you have?

I have a Sears X-Cargo Sport 20 cargo carrier but it does not have any of the mounting hardware.

Can someone point me to the correct hardware I will need to mount it on the rails? I have the factory Buick rails (which I understand are Thule with a Buick logo).

All,

I have just purchased but not installed the buick supplied cross bars. The immediate need is to get two bikes up there. I would prefer a carrier that uses a front fork mount. On the Thule website they show such products, but you must first select the Thule crossbars. Does anyone know which bars the buick "Version" is identical to or comparable with?

Thanks,
Chris

as flush mounted rails where the Outback has raised rails. It is more design and Convience to have lower rails to the roof for looks and a lower lift height compared to the latest Outback that is really a cuv a
Thanks for the link...

I like the look of them.

Did you buy the black or aluminum cross bars?

I'm thinking of ordering the black ones.

I just bought the roof racks from Omac via ebay.. Unless I missed something, they are not long enough to fit the roof. Also, I was missing two bolts.
Can you let me know how you made out?

I put one bike up on the Buick x-rails using a Rocky Mounts tray, I think I posted some pics in here (post #92 in this thread)

I bought the black ones. They are easily adjustable so that you can position them anywhere on the flush tracks.

Roof racks arrived last night.

I wont get around to installing them til next week.

I will update with any issues or problems.

By the way... I ordered directly though their website... Not Ebay.

It is hard to tell from the pictures- do they have a U-track?

Does anyone know the dimensions of the T-track (opening width and inside width/height) on the OEM cross bars? They seem to be fairly universal between brands, but it's hard to tell from just pictures. I have track-mount kayak saddles and it would be good to know that they'll fit before I find out if the dealer can still order the rack!

Wished I could find a used set myself.
