Very possible. In reading up on it still can’t find definitive answer. However, of items that make impact they listed following;

Wheel/Tire Size (I.e. performance tires vs. Std) …but in case of Fusion Platinum had 19” and lower profile. Buick 20” but profile higher than Ford.
Suspension (particularly electronic sport) which both the Ford & Buick have
Axles
Brakes
Engine

…all kinds of things. However, given the Buick has a 9 speed and Ford only 6 speed could very well be limitation of transmission. However, Ford uses 10-speed that they put in their trucks & vans.

Many bulbs and electrical gizmos have been on the fritz lately.

After about 10 years, I began to lose low beam lamps. One has to unhinge the bumper cover to get to them. I won't be doing that. I've had one go out per year since then. I like looking at a YouTube and figuring out how to unscrew stuff and put bulbs in, like I did with a brake light that was out. It took me 10 to 15 minutes.

I've been told to make sure I'm using American made OEM bulbs or have the mechanic make sure he does that.

These 2005-2009 LaCrosses seem to have minor electrical issues here and there.

Malibu has an issue with low beams on the pass side burning out like clockwork and its due to a harness which was revised. a la crosse is liek a malibu in too many ways production wise, so i wonder if it has the same issue.

I will have to look at which side was last replaced about a year or so ago by looking at the invoices, which I keep.

It's funny you bring that up. The person who made my appointment made the same comment about Malibus, but more in the sense that part of the front cover has to be pulled off. Do you know which gen / series of years of Malibu had this problem AND the difficult removal of low beam headlamps?

Interesting that it's predominately on one side on the Malibu. On mine, it has varied. I see my gen of LaCrosse on the streets with front low beam lamps out, and it seems like it can be either side.

Has the wheel house partially pull fasteners, the lower air deflector comes undone mostly, then you undo parts of the grill to allow it to slump out enough to get at the 10mm for the headlight which i was able to skip those steps because of jury rig repairs before me and they werent too worried. one headlight thad a broken mount tab anyway..

I personally found the connectors to be brittle cheap, the wires were too low gauge for what I would have chosen, and the wires to be pulled tightly and thus in an unsatisfactory way to reinstall. I had to fix a connector anyway because the wire had in inuslation broken connection

im told the low beam failed again, conveniently the same few hour span i heard and read about the harness from gm.

So then this should not be an issue on the 2014 and 2015 Malibu, with the raised rear deck lid and the Camaro-like twin rear taillamps on each side.

That model was nicely refreshed, before the current Malibu we have on the market now was released.

So you're upset because it takes some extra effort to install an aftermarket radio... or because Buick is giving you bogus information???

I had an issue with my 05 Lacrosse not having low beams and no high beams at all. Ended up being a ground wire the came out of the housing. Just regrounded it to the body and boom, they all started working again. Always check your grounds first

You can always hard wire an after market stereo into any vehicle.

A lot of the newer cars have the HVAC and other controls built into the stereo display, not impossible to deal with but my understanding is that it can get pricey.

I've had aftermarket head units installed in three vehicles (latest model being a 2013 Chrysler) I went to Audio Express and in the last two cases it cost about $1k, which is a bit pricey but that is all in, including keeping steering wheel controls...and the difference in sound was amazing. The Sony unit I put in the Chrysler also had Apple CarPlay. In all I'd say well worth the price. If a professional shop like that says they can't install an aftermarket unit, then I'd say yes, you're stuck. Dealers just don't mess with mods like that.

Drivers sunshade is too small (probably passengers too, but I don't use that one). Does not adequately block the sun when rotated to the door position.

Turns out if you want to keep your steering wheel control and OnStar, they make a wiring harness, one for the stereo with steering wheel controls is around 165. The adapter for OnStar is another 80. Whoever hooked mine up,before I bought the car, didn't opt for the expensive extras. So I have the luxury of either buying the expensive harness or just dealing with not having steering wheel controls. I opt for the latter.

1. Bought the car with 45k miles now it has 57k changed pads and rotors complete set changed brand new 4 set of tires did all the recommended service for it now my car shakes or vibrates at 65 70 75 80 mph did 4 times tire balance 2 times wheel alignment I can feel the steering shake and seat shake and gas pedal vibrate has any other Buick experienced this problem I’m thinking it has to do with drivetrain cv joint maybe, wheel hub bearing, vacuum leak plz HELP?

2. Transmission shifts weird and sometimes hesitates to switch gears very sluggish at 1st gear and 2nd gear? I really like
This car but these problems I’m experiencing are annoying and I want a BMW or BENZ tha cruises at 90 mph like nothing? Now I’m sending my car to Buick and see what this vibration is since my tire shop keep doing the balance on tires and says everything is tight looks good lol

I've only had my 2017 a week but the Start/Stop is without a doubt the most annoying feature. I truly hate the way it cuts off when I pull into a parking spot, and as soon as I select Park, it immediately restarts...just dumb!

I have already placed an order with Trifecta Performance to get a tune and eliminate this PITA feature.

Aside from that, the DoD feature is truly seamless (but I still don't care for it) and the ACC works much better than I anticipated (I would still prefer the feature of holding the CANCEL button to switch to Standard CC.
The 20in wheel/tire combo also delivers a bit firmer ride than I care for, but I plan to swap to a 19in combo like on my Impala which I think makes a nice compromise in ride/handling.

What is the biggest complaint you have of your LaCrosse? I know we all love these cars, I'm just curious to see if there is a pattern.

I for one cant stand that i have nowhere to put my left foot when driving. I'm in a very awkward position, that I will get used to eventually. But the wheelwell really makes it difficult to get truly comfortable. I'm always trying to figure out what to do with my left foot, as I only drive with my right foot.

I'm interested to hear your pet peeves.

I am having transmission problems with my 2006 Buick Lacrosse. It's hard trying to diagnose if it is the transmission going out or if it is the cam shaft sensor that is needing replaced.
