Saw my first TourX in the wild today.

Saw a new one I have seen before in Pittsburgh. White sport back or sedan in the north hills. Had some damage to the front, popped hood and no crest. This is a new one to add to the regulars I see that aren't on here.

Why have cargo box on in the middle of summer? Around here people mainly use them for skis, snowboards, etc. Camping equipment, I suppose, but isn't that what the rear of the wagon is for? Sorry about thread drift.

God that cargo box looks hideous.
I'm sure it's a case of "Function over Form", for them.

Things that solve your problem tend to become beautiful.

That's how I saw my car top carrier anyhow lol

In a pinch, you can fit 2 or 3 kids in one.

Or more, if they're skinny & adventuresome !

Traveling with a wife and two dogs will make a roof top box a lot more attractive asset.

Never thought of that, you're right, and my blue TourX looks better up-close too, To answer your other question of why - I know that family up there - his Dad carries all kind s of stuff in his truck, and they have plenty o family - hence, the box on top, I think. I am just happy there was a TourX right there by mine - in the wild, and I know the familytwo in the wild - reduced.webp

There's finally one I consistently see in town, parked in the staff parking area of one of the local elementary schools. But it's pretty plain in the "fire engine" red color and zero tint on the windows. Haven't seen the owner.
With zero tint, you should be able to see the owner 😎

Saw white zero tint TourX in Ann Arbor on Wednesday at a breakfast place. After eating we lingered at our table as long as we could to see the owner. My wife and I think there are two main types of people that drive a TourX. We had to leave before we could test our theory.

I'm curious what the two main types of people are. In my area I have seen two types myself, but I don't know if I fall into either category.

In very broad strokes: (1) A more "seasoned" 😉 owner, that has a positive feeling for Buicks and appreciates the practicality of station wagons, (2) Those that drive it because it's a German-engineered car with great styling and European performance character.

😎

Hey, you forgot us the third type.
Weirdos who hate to follow the crowd and wanted something that no one wants. 🤣

This thread is going sideways but I have to add to it…. We’re #2 but with the #1 caveat that we love station wagons. Also, I like to park in the contractor slip at Home Depot and haul 16’ lumber. 1673316230028.webp

Saw a white sportback at a Niagara County NY rural fuel/convenience food place yesterday morning - it caught my eye, then I got to see it real good before it pulled-out.

Wish I was in my TourX to see if they noticed. I was not driving our TourX, so I just gawked at their Sportback

Guess I'm types 1, 3, and 2/3 of type 2, owner
