I absolutely LOVE my 11 Lacrosse, but yes I would have to agree with some pep on the little things that suck like the sun visor....... just couldn't make it go another inch or so extended huh. Everyday I go home from work and the sun sits right in that spot that the visor just won't reach. And yes the "A" pillars and that damn blindspot! Who else leans up on the wheel in a tight turn to look to make sure their not gonna side swipe anyone? And other than the whole stretching of the timing chain over time and that 32mph downshift from hell, she's great. Suspension package is the smoothest ride I've ever had in a car and the 280hp when I need to get on the HW or pass someone is there. Now I wanna drop her an inch and put her on 20s. She gonna be so sexy!!!

Well said and on the eAssist it makes it more of a problem with horrible city fuel economy.

My biggest complaint (fixed in later models) is the ability to lock your keys in your trunk if you approach a locked car, open the trunk, and accidentally drop in your gym bag or briefcase in and close it. Even though fob is just inside the trunk, it stays locked (no delay, no beep warning -- nothing).
Credit Buick for fixing, but never should have been an issue. This may sound strange, but if I'd had know this before buying, I might have thought twice. I'm at the gym every day, and always have to resist urge to plop keys in my bag with other personal belongings for fear I might drop bag back in trunk and have to call someone to come get me. Every buyer has small "pet peeves" that are a big deal for them in particular, and this is mine.

The other overriding issue is weight. The car is too heavy. It hurts handling, accelration, and fuel economy. There is no reason in 2012 that Buick can't build lighter cars that still offer quiet luxury.
Some of the symptoms addressed with newer, more powerful V-6, but still car needs to drop 400 pounds if Buick wants to continue to try and expand their age demographic downward.

I've learned to live with lack of storage, poorly designed armrest, no trunk release, ventilated seats that just lightly suck sweat off your body so only cool under very specific climate conditions, etc.
They don't bother me much anymore.
Funny thing, your comment about weight brought back memories. When I was a kid in the '50s my Uncle Benny (chubby guy with a cigar and the salt of the earth) drove a Buick. He'd say, "I like a heavy car... holds the road." Back then all Buicks were big and heavy, and that was part of their attraction. Times do change!

What is the biggest complaint you have of your LaCrosse? I know we all love these cars, I'm just curious to see if there is a pattern.

I for one cant stand that i have nowhere to put my left foot when driving. I'm in a very awkward position, that I will get used to eventually. But the wheelwell really makes it difficult to get truly comfortable. I'm always trying to figure out what to do with my left foot, as I only drive with my right foot.

I'm interested to hear your pet peeves.
The awkward placement of the power steering reservoir. Mine leaks power steering fluid so I have to add more every once in a while, so the awkward placement of the reservoir towards the bottom of the engine bay in the back right in front of the passenger seat makes it difficult for me to add more. Especially since there are 2 hoses that block it making it hard to put a funnel in it and even harder to see where I'm putting the funnel.

To Whom is Listening,

My 2018 LaCrosse has been in the shop since 12/31/2022. The guy does not call me back half the time. I'm losing money on rentals. This has been a nightmare. They said the part is back order and I believe them. On the other hand, this is causing me too much. I'm disappointment in the service. The first couple of weeks he would give me updates. Now nothing. Do anyone know why I can get a drive belt to go on my car? Help Please

Yeah take your car and go somewhere else. That's one of the biggest reasons why I do my own work but sometimes the jobs are just big enough to force you to take it in to someone else but I wouldn't put up with that kind of customer service. I would maybe start calling around other shops and ask questions about that belt or get online see if that part actually is on back order, just Google your make model and year and then the belt, you should be able to track it down. I brought my 11 lacrosse in, the mechanic order my drive belt from carquest and I picked up my vehicle later that day along with the alternator swapped, new rear shocks and a sticker. I mean I was a little aggravated I paid $65 for a drive belt but everything is expensive today. Good luck I hope you figure it out.

I tried. No one has the part.
That's weird because I just went on to Google and searched 2018 Buick LaCrosse drive belt and they pop up over the place, gmparts.com Amazon, ebay, Walmart, AutoZone, partsgeek, stockwiseauto, finditparts, truckid, and like so many more websites. I always buy my own parts and then bring them to someone if I don't plan on installing them myself. And the belt for your lacrosse looks a lot cheaper than the belt was for my 2011 lacrosse. You should be able to just go to GM parts search the part number for that belt and then get on to Google with your make model year that part number and you should have a whole bunch of options. Or you could just call a GM dealership ask for parts get the part number for that belt and search it online that way as well. My usual go to online auto parts store is A1 Auto.
I've always found the best prices and really good quality parts from them I've never had an issue going through them for parts. Most of the parts I bought from them are brakes, pads, rotors, starter, alternator, and other small things.
Here's the link to GM website with your 2018 lacrosse drive belt pulled up gives part numbers so maybe start there.
I guess that's why this seems a little confusing to me, it just doesn't make sense that a shop can't locate a drive belt for a Buick that's 5 years old. It's not like they're getting parts from Germany or from some special manufacturer. Well hopefully some of this info will help you out.

I have a 2006 LaCrosse. In the last 4 months it has stalled about 4 times while driving. It seems to happen when I take my foot of the gas and slow a little and it will just shut off and there is no power steering or brakes. All the electrical stays on but no engine power. It has always started right back up after puttin it in park. My shop of dealer cant figure it out.

The sun visor issue that is mentioned many times...I finally bought a visor extender and it overlays the car's visor and it can be extended out about 6 or 7 additional inches. Works great.

I think he’s talking about the eassist main drive belt for the 2.5L car. Owner’s manual recommends changing every 45k. He’s right, it‘s nearly unobtainable due to very low ’18/‘19 eassist production numbers. I tried getting one for future use on GM Parts Online. Sure you see it in the catalog. But then go through the actual steps to buy it. I did and got message that it is on back order. Wait going on a month. Hope to get it by fall.

And here I thought it was interesting that they put the 2.5 in the last-gen of LaCrosse. The Ecotec 2.5 is a good engine. They used it for the 2014 (+/-) Impala refresh. It could pull that car as needed. Close to 200 horses, I think.

When I rummage around looking at LaCrosses and see what's around in used last-gen ones, there are virtually no 4 cylinder ones around.

I did not know how the mild e-assist worked. Is this drive belt the same as the serpentine or an auxiliary one for the 2.5's e-assist unit? With such a recent car, it should be more available. That's a bummer.

Love my 2017 LaCrosse have an issue with the drivers seat

3.6 V6? Which color and interior?

Yes, it's a nice looking car. I read your comment about what the power seat is doing on another thread.

The 2.5 eassist uses 2 separate serpentine belts (and tensioners) over the crank pulley, a light duty one for the AC compressor and water pump and a much heavier one for the eassist motor/generator unit.

Interesting. It would be interesting to know how the e-assist knows when to engage. Also, one would think a heavier belt would last quite a bit longer.

I have a '08 Lacrosse Super and my biggest gripe would have to be the crummy transmission they used in these cars. I've got 66,000 miles on it and I'm starting to have issues. The door locks must be from the same supplier as the transmission. Other than that, I have really enjoyed this car, it turns heads when they hear it and everybody wants to know what it is and do I want to sell it.

What year and model is your LaCrosse? I don't seem to experience with my 2007 quite the problems you mention. I have no interior chrome coming loose, no squeaks whatsoever in the dash (or anywhere), and what about the console storage? - I seem to have plenty. My back seat accommodates three people with no problem. I also have a trunk release control in the driver's door (I don't have rain sensitive wipers, but I do have only a CX). As for unpredictable remote fobs, I have learned to glue punched-out aluminum foil circles inside the backings of buttons on the rubber button insert (as well as clean the green circuit board thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and a Q-tip) which restores the original predictable functioning of any auto-opening with the key fob. (I do this once a year.)

Advice: Do NOT rely on Buick dealerships to solve your problems. Forums like this and highly rated independent repair shops do a far better job...and much cheaper! Just my own experience, the dealerships just want you to trade your Buick in for a new one and start payments all over again - salesmen routinely approached me and actually ridiculed the age of my pristine '07 LaCrosse and goaded me to trade in for a new one while I was waiting for the second-rate, expensive maintenance I was getting (but won't submit to anymore). I won't buy another new Buick for those reasons, but my current Buick itself is a good car and can be repaired and maintained very well by highly rated independents.
Thank you so much! I followed your directions for fixing my fob and it now works like a charm. I am happy you took the time to post something that would be of help to others.

Instrument cluster on my 2014 constantly reverts to "sport" view rather than the "touring" view that I prefer. It's so random and an obvious glitch, there's no rhyme or reason for when it happens. It does happen a few times per week and drives me nuts.
My Infotainment touchscreen likes to go blank or just stop working also so just waiting for it to stop forever. Oh yay

2014. It has no tow hook, front or rear. First car I've had that did not have a removable hook or any way to hook a strap to ot to get pulled out of a ditch or something.
Funny i just looked for one also, bummer. There is also no place to install a magnetic hide-a-key box so next time i lock my keyfob inside trunk i can get back in!
