Can anyone please tell me where the mode actuator is on a 2000 lesabre with automatic temp control? My vents are stuck on mid and won't change to floor or defrost. I bought the mode actuator and now have to find where it's located to install it.

The mode actuator is to the right of the gas pedal and it is above it, looking up, if you were to lay with your head at the foot of the driver's side. There are two panels that cover it. One with clips. Another with two bolts. It is no easy task to maneuver and reach it.

I had to look it up on all data and pay for a month subscription. It's on sale right now with a promo code fall20 for 20% off so it was 15.99 not bad since I can go in there and print every foreseeable repair I may do in the future. The whole month I should be able to print the whole car. Anyways I posted a screenshot of what they show for the mode door and mix door. Apparently you have to remove the mix door first then the mode

But you can see it looking under there? Thanks for the info all I seem to find info on is the blend door. Same with the part. I ordered mode door from rock auto and I got a blend door. The only mode door I can find is genuine gm mode door for $75

Yes, I was able to get the mode actuator out and put a new one in. Unfortunately the air is stuck on the windshield air now because the mode actuator is difficult to recalibrate. Tried unplugging the battery terminals to reset the module but nothing seems to be working. Will try to hand tighten the bolts and then see if it will calibrate properly.

Can you go back under there and disconnect it and recalibrate it manually then put it back in?

How do you access the mix door actuator? I couldn't figure that out. Maybe if I take that off first it will allow the mode actuator to recalibrate. I have no idea how to get it off though.

What is the best way to recalibrate it manually? That is exactly what I want to do.
I have no idea there are some levers in there I heard on these forums that must align right in order for it to work properly. Search around on here and find someone who has done it and message them and ask how to do it. I'd like to know also. I have the factory service manual so I'll look it up in there to see if there is any info and I'll get back to you

Thank you. I'll also keep in touch if I am able to figure it out. Meanwhile I will be doing car yoga, doing head stands trying to figure this out
