♚ Regal GS - Brembo Brakes ♚ Master Thread ♚

All the parts fit. However, now I'm confused by the brembo calipers on this car. Are all 2014+ GS brembo calipers like this? You cannot slide the pads out the front of the calipers; you need to remove the calipers from the hub to pull the pads out of the back of the calipers. This is because the front of the caliper is more like a diamond shape rather than a rectangle and the pads hit the corners (red circles on the attached pictures) when you try to remove the pads.

I haven't seen this in any other brembos or any brembo videos on youtube.

Unfortunately yes. My 2014 GS is the same, no idea why they did that.
Please let us know how the Akebono pads are (noise, stopping, etc).

I am having the Powerstop Z17s put on this week both front and back. I cannot wait to be brake dust free!

The akebono pads are slightly less firm when stopping but not enough for me to really notice.

No noise yet. No idea on dust as I'm still running my black winter wheels.

I had ceramic pads on my Camaro SS and had very little (light colored) dust on the wheels. Noticed no difference in stopping over the Brembo pads (normal everyday driving).
I put the Z17s on the front of my Camaro SS last week. The following three days it rained on and off and the wheels were very shiny. With the stock pads they would have been dark gray from dust. I have noticed a slight difference in stopping power. I equate it to my last Camaro, 2011 2LT/RS. It did not have Brembos and I noticed the pedal felt a bit different but there was no change that would make me think that I couldn't stop in an emergency.

Does anyone have a color match for touch up paint for our Brembo brakes? The dealership chipped the paint on mine when installing my winter tires/wheels.

Swapping out front pads this weekend (if it doesn't rain). Just want to confirm the torque spec for the caliper bolts, 30 + 90° right ? I know it says that other places and the Chilton manual, just want to make sure 😉

That's what I followed, but it was difficult to even get that much torque on it in the space I had. Nothing has fallen off yet...

You're absolutely right, did like two 45° to make a full 90° 👍
