2014 Verano - Lost Communication with TCM - Service power steering, service stabilitrak, transmission limp mode

car went into limp mode, after chimes from dashboard. Similar message flashed, 'service stabilitrac", etc. Car would barely move forward. luckily it happened within a block of a trusted garage. He diagnosed the problem and had the part replaced within an hour of taking the car in.
What part was it I have same issue with a 2014 verano

Mechanic was familiar with symptoms and warning. He replaced the throttle body since the plastic gears inside were worn and stripped. Part and labor came to about $120 total, and repair was done quickly since the part is readily available.

I have a 2014 Verano. Multiple symptoms - service steering, service stabilitrak, limp mode. I have replaced negative cable. I have replaced battery. The dealership can't find the problem. HELP please. I've searched the forum and while there are many threads, I have yet to see a reported and confirmed fix.

anyone? please.

Thanks

Scott
I am currently having the same issues and it became stuck in 3rd gear. My car is at transit shop getting error code regarding TCM. On Christmas Eve my granddaughter and myself was last minute Xmas shopping and my car put us in a dangerous citation getting stuck in heavy traffic and no where to pull off safely . Losing control of the car no steering complete limp mode while driving 40 mph.

Has anyone confirmed the throttle body replacement fixes the u0101 code for the tcm
Person who posted the throttle body replacement never stated what code he had.

My Verano has the same warning lights, but also has the ‘service parking assist’, check engine light comes on and is doing the same with limp mode and won’t go over 45 mph at 3k rpm but eventually shifts after driving about 5 miles. I know it’s going to shift when the doors automatically lock. Scanner gave a code indicating something wrong with the connection to the TCM but I don’t have enough confidence to go that route yet. Please repost if you find anything and I’ll do the same.
I have exactly the same symptoms on my 2014 Buick Verano. Door locks off and on continuously like if they were possessed, Service power steering and Service Stabilitrak service message come on. Jerking transmission sound as if power is on and off and recently, cruise control is not working. These things seem to happen after driving the car for 20 minutes or more. Sometimes nothing happens at all. Any ideas?

I have the same problems, what part did they replace?

I was having the same trouble with my 2014 Buick Verano that some of you were posting where the engine would stall, jump our of gear, give computer readouts of service power steering and service Stabile bar. On my car the door locks would go crazy off and on over and over. I notice that someone said they had the throttle body replaced and it had helped. Not knowing where the throttle body was I went to you tube and found out that cleaning the throttle body would solve the problem. I followed that instructions in the video and my problems have gone away. Here is the link for of the video.
. Hope it works for you.

What was replaced?
One person had the throttle body changed and another person just cleaned the throttle body. Both seemed to achieve the same outcome. 😎

Does anyone have the solution???

alguien tiene la solucion???

ok so recently as i was driving on the highway the car started to jerk and shift in and out of park while the car is moving also doors were constantly locking and unlocking to the point where i had to pull over and turn the car off. took it to autozone to get scanned and it showed the code u0101 /lost connection with tcm. I took the car home and inspected everything like fuses, ground wires, etc. i noticed when i turn the car key in the on position the car doesn’t show indicated gear until i start it up so i reset the tcm and it worked fine for about 10 minutes. tried to take the car for a drive and boom same thing happened again. been working on this for some time now and notice everytime the car is turned on the transmission slaps into gear and starts showing what gear im in but as soon as i turn the car off it forgets what gear it’s in. also been having fluctuating voltage levels where when the car drops below 14v or i put any electrical input like rolling up the windows the car forgets the gear it’s in and says service stabilitrak, power steering. please help

Look up "fretting corrosion".

Basically, you unplug all of the BCM connectors, use electronics cleaner, then exercise them (plug in, unplug, several times) to burnish the terminals (helps remove physical corrosion, kinda like sandpaper), then a little dielectric grease (keeps outside air out) before plugging them in the last time.

You can do this to any other control module as well.

just finished cleaning and reconnecting the bcm connectors and the tcm connector and the car still says service stabilitrak , power steering, and doesn’t read what gear it’s in until i start it up then all the lights go away and the car works fine until i press the window switch up while the windows arre up

There are other switches that might benefit from that activity, but only if the issue is from a poor connection, mostly involving computer data lines.

just started the car a few minutes ago and seen a surge in battery voltage up to 15 volts . now battery is sitting at 14.5 volts with the tcm losing connection
